Anybody want to recommend some? Not really trying to spend more than like 40 bucks, which I know limits me pretty severly, which is why I am asking. Anyone have a decent pair of cheap grappling gloves? Also, where did you get them?
You could try: Truth - The TXMMA Store : , Home of TRUTH Fightwear & the Best Deals in MMA! or SSFgear.com; the best gear at the best price. both have very good reputations and reviews here in G&E. I have the Truth training gloves, great quality at a great price. I assume the 4 oz. gloves would be just as good. There should be reviews for both companies gloves in the sub-forum.
http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f67/new-ko-fightgear-mma-training-shooto-style-gloves-712298/ KOFightgear do a great Shooto style glove.Review of them above. They are not up on his site but drop him a line and hopefully he can sort you out....dont know if them are the open thumb style you wanted though. Truth as already mentionned does do good gear and I have heard good things about Pauls MMA glove.
you can;t go wrong with kofightgear and the truth gloves. I have the mma strikig gloves from truth and like them a lot. the kofightgear gloves are fairtex clones and I also love those gloves a lot
I have the CSI Traditional MMA Gloves, and I like them a lot. I have a pretty good grip with these when I am grappling. MMA COMPETITION GLOVES : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
If you'll just be using them for bag/pad work: MMA Cage Style Gloves from Combatsports.com If there might be sparring involved: Top Contender Molded Foam Training Gloves from Combatsports.com Even though they're out of your price range, I use these for bag/pad work: UFC Store - UFC Official Fight Glove I have these for sparring: TapouT MMA Training Gloves from Combatsports.com
The Fairtex Open Thumb Gloves are by far my favorite - but are spendy, even with our discount attached. For $40, I would recommend these.
I'm going to have to agree with MMAOverload on that one. I had those FG2s given to me for my first fight and they're not a bad glove at all. I used them for 3 more fights before I moved on to a new pair, but I do still use them to train in everyonce and a while. Is your main purpose in them for training or fighting? Both?
