Anybody want to recommend some? Not really trying to spend more than like 40 bucks, which I know limits me pretty severly, which is why I am asking. Anyone have a decent pair of cheap grappling gloves? Also, where did you get them?

you can;t go wrong with kofightgear and the truth gloves. I have the mma strikig gloves from truth and like them a lot. the kofightgear gloves are fairtex clones and I also love those gloves a lot

If you'll just be using them for bag/pad work:
MMA Cage Style Gloves from Combatsports.com

If there might be sparring involved:
Top Contender Molded Foam Training Gloves from Combatsports.com

Even though they're out of your price range, I use these for bag/pad work:
UFC Store - UFC Official Fight Glove

    I have these for sparring:
TapouT MMA Training Gloves from Combatsports.com

I'm going to have to agree with MMAOverload on that one. I had those FG2s given to me for my first fight and they're not a bad glove at all. I used them for 3 more fights before I moved on to a new pair, but I do still use them to train in everyonce and a while.

Is your main purpose in them for training or fighting? Both?
