Sure they have. But it shouldn't be expected.

The expectation should be getting the hospital bills covered and maybe something small for the inconvenience.

From there, it's a matter of figuring out if the time and effort spent pursuing this is greater or less than the cost of the hospital bills.

Canada = no hospital bills.

did you? probably not. wtf is your background anyways?

Yes. Read the case. There is a lot to it, and it isn't comparable in any way to what is described here.

OP, so if you were treated at the ER for injuries caused by the, whatever it was, then that is a start. You said you waited all night. Did you get treatment? Was it for burns? Electrical burns? How severe are the burns? Is there potentially permanent scarring? Was the numbness caused by nerve damage? I assume the answer is yes to all of that. If so, you may have a basis for a negligence case, but you haven't said anything about what you would want to get, or be satisfied with. In the US, a case like this would be expensive, very expensive, to put on, so you have to weight the realistic possibility of return against the costs of putting on the case.

irc hasnt posted for a minute, he's probably googling the shit out of some laws.

ugh, seriously? contact the restaurant about that hospital bill, their insurance should cover it.

as for the leg, you knew that it was going to get better in 2 days so it's not like there's this great emotional stress. No permanent damage, no burns, doesn't sound like any lost wages. No great pain, just a pain in the ass for 2 days, get over it.

I highly doubt you were electrocuted.

If you were in fact electrocuted and you approach a lawyer, they'll probably just call the ghostbusters.

Or, want to know who your doctor is, because they did some good work.

Then I would not expect a whole lot.

An attorney may end up telling you that his fees and time will outweigh the settlement.

But again, fuck Mayberry. Talk to an attorney. But I would have very tempered expectations. I honestly don't know if this will be worth pursuing.

a heater blew up on his leg while eating in a restaurant. of course he has a case. you have to maintain shit in a public environment.

irc has a masters degree in cold case files.

Hey, this guy got hurt by a restaurant, and I heard about that lady that got hurt by mcdonalds and sued, so this guy should sue.

Right?

I'm not expecting millions i'll leave it at that. I may if anything just contact them directly with my case and evidence saying I would like to mediate this and get it solved/over with rather than dragging this through the court system and see if we can settle on something small. Thanks to those who gave legitimate opinions rather than trolling/being pricks. A bit disheartening to see even a mod say "get over it", but hey this is the internet, anonymity shines so people speak like they wouldn't in real life which is understandable. I hope to those trolling you never experience something like this when the enemy is a large corporate establishment. Being the little guy isn't fun.

Right?

whats your background?

and no. its more like: this guy was eating in a restaurant and a heater blew up and injured him, even though a place of business is supposed to ensure patron safety.

There is a difference between having a case and having a case that will be profitable and worthwhile.

A couple days of numbness with no monetary damage, and no lasting injury doesn't equate to big bucks. And therein lies the issue: Will it be worth the legal fees and time?

I doubt it. But give it a shot.

I would absolutely tell you to get over it if we were face to face.

and despite what sock puppet tells you, you're not getting millions, you have listed nothing that would give you even thousands in damages.

my license was revoked, lol.

something about not being an actual lawyer, per se.
