Need help on choosing a steel cup

Hello?
Kind-of-related

Is the cup supposed to push on my thighs when I stand with my legs close together, or do I have it too low? And is it supposed to show as a huge bulge on the front of my shorts :icon_lol:

if you read the thread i already answered that.
You kind of did and kind of didn't.
Yes they're supposed to be uncomfortable for a while.
But in the specific way I described?
And what about the bulge? I'm serious, it looks ridiculously huge.

Im actually about to buy my 1st cup for a fight I have coming up. I was looking at different kinds and was wondering what peoples opinions are on whats best. The compression shorts with a cup placed inside it or a cup with the strings that tie up behind you? Any advice on what to get or what works best for you guys, I would appreciate.

there are two sizes, small and large, get the large because the small is thai size, meaning really fuckin small.

Great, so there's thimble and soup bowl. Awesome.

Are the childerns large bigger than the adult small, because no joke I'll take it.

To be straight up i plan to get a jaco defender cup because the steel cup sucks to wrestle and do bjj in. i have not been able to get used to it. right now what i do is use a shockdoctor cup inside of a normal jockstrap and wear compression shorts over that and my fight shorts over that and it works great. i would consider keeping that setup but the shockdoctor cup is kinda narrow. if you are a smaller guy you may want to check out that option to be honest

i just orddered a Top King steel cup
went with a large, better safe than sorry

I tie my steel cup under the compression shorts, but i wear a boxer underneath... It never moves during wrestling, rolling or sparring.

Take a large size, as they run kind of small, as previously mentioned in the thread. The only thing you should be picky about is the cushioning that runs around the cup. Some thai cups have rope for cushioning and will be bothersome when rolling, other use foam and those tends to get smelly... I would recommend a steel cup with layers of soft leather for padding(like the Cageside one), as it cushions well, resists moisture and can be wiped clean easily after a session.
