Need car advice

Yeah, Mazda makes a good reliable car. And don't have the Toyota and Honda premium in the used market but also keep in mind that these are cars mostly made the last 5 years. Mazda did have some bad reliability issues prior to that. So I don't think i would buy a Mazda that's more than 5 years old.

And yes, Nissan is as shitty as Kia and Hyundai. They probably have the worst transmissions on the market, they routinely fail in under 100k miles.
I think Mazda has been on a winning streak since they developed the skyactiv technology approach. Which was maybe 10-12 years ago.

If all I could afford was a 10-year old car I'd definitely go for a Mazda with skyactiv technology.

What's your zip code? Gonna be a challenge finding a Camry or Corolla for $15k or less that isn't high mileage.

I'm going to put off a new car for awhile and keep saving up. I can still eek some more life out of my kia.

I was talking to the local mechanic here with a good rep as a straight shooter and he told me Toyota Camry or Honda Accord from the years around 2015 or so, that 11th generation another user recommended, is the most reliable you can get. He said that the deer whistles are highly effective at deterring them. I have them on my kia now but wasn't sure if they made any difference but he said that they really help.

I've been diving deeper into the buicks and that 3800 engine. Sounds awesome and from a time when cars were built to last.

Not like this disposable modern crap they try to schuck onto consumers now.

I live in the Atlanta metro and actually found a base 2016 Camry with only 25k miles for $16,500 so you probably have a better chance than I thought.
Found another one from that gen (2012-2017) that only has 82k miles for $12k.
