***NBA Thread v6.0 - Yoffs, What about Ice***

Giannis isn't really a choker, he just has a severely limited skillset that isn't sustainable in the yoffs

And Kwi I dunno. I'm willing to give him the rest of the yoffs before I settle on my hot take, but right now I've been brutally unimpressed. How well Faps played vs Bostcan has some to do with that as well. This is literally the first time in Kwi's career where he doesn't have ultra elite coaching in a system with near perfect chemistry (made for him) and a deep loaded roster and... we'll see

I mean ffs this Flerps team was considered a borderline superteam and they might not make it out of the 2nd (and might've even lost in the 1st had Kristaps been healthy). And we can no longer blame everything on Raul, he's had two straight very strong games, especially for a Robin, and yet Flerps have hilariously dropped both. That falls on the guy people were talking about as the best player in the game

In fairness to Kawhi, you might've said the same thing last year after Game 6 in Philly. Or Game 2 in Milwaukee.

You can't judge these things game by game. He's not invincible, nor does he have magic powers that lifts a team up from a shitty game 100% of the time. He's fine. Although the Clips, while good, are not a super team. They're gonna have to grind it out all the same.

We'll see. If he loses to the Nugs or gets blown out in the WCF then I'll hold him to the same standard of scrutiny (derision) we all hold LeBrick, Hardcan, Staph, etc too

I don't even know how you can put Steph and Lebron in the same category as Hardcan, so whatever. One of those things is not like the other...

Over the last say 5 years those are the top players in the game. Hardcan in that time has an MVP and 2 MVP runner ups + wherever he ends up in the voting this year. I guess you can add KD to that list too, hence the "etc"

Hardcan tho doesn't get taken seriously as a best player in the game candidate because of his yoff failures, despite the fact that he's had shaky rosters (outside of 2018, when CP0 eventually ended up injured anyways) with questionable coaching. If Kwi loses to the Nugs or gets blown out by Lakes, I'll consider that a yoff failure for him unless he delivers some kind of epic performance in loss (I don't see them losing to DEN or getting blown out by LAL if that happens tho)

You have never had a kawhi

Keep the faith

Id have faith if the last 2 games were close. But the fact they blew big leads and lost by big margin seems like they already checked out. This happened against the Mavs too.

Fun Guy can only do so much. Before Clipd, He had Pops and Nurse who adjusted. Doc doesn’t do that.

I mean all they have to do is limit the bench minutes and they should be fine. But the problem is doc is too dumb to realize this. Lol

Rockets looking at Ty Lue or JVG.
Wanting "cultural reset"
Good like with hardcan and westbrick

You don't know how Harden who averaged 36ppg and took the all time great Curry/KD GSW to 7 games can be mentioned with Curry? Lol. You have high standards.

With LeBron I get because he's top 3 all time.. But if you gave Harden a prime Boosh and Wad I bet he wins a chip or two also.

Even this series Harden put up 29/7/5 with 50% shaating, LeBron put up 27/7/11 on 52%.. Thats with AD instead of Westbrick killing all the spacing..

Of course it will be "a" playoff failure. I'm just saying that those guys have all gotten it done multiple times, and Hardcan has not gotten it done once. It's not the same level of failure, in terms of a career of coming up short when it matters. Especially with Kawhi, who has carried teams on his back to the promised land, with his most recent success being a team he just kind of stumbled into for a year. He will come up short now and then as everyone does, but to put him in the conversation with perennial failures like Hardcan when he does, is a bit much.

I hope and pray the Clips win due to the bet I made but they could be up 40 and my confidence level would still be a solid 3.3/10.

win win for me today

if nuggs win - get to cheer for canadian murray and laugh at DOc

if clips win - get to see Kawhi face/stop lebron (not a lebron hater)

Best coaches in the NBA (in no particular order):
1. Brad Stevens (Celts)
2. Nick Nurse (Raps)
3. Eric Spoelstra (Heat)
4. Mike Budi (Bucks)
5. Mike Malone (Nugs)
6. Rick Carlisle (Mavs)

Took off Poopovich because they’ve been bad the last couple years. Am I forgetting anyone?

are you sure coach Bud is on this list with this playoff performance?

Lol at Kawhi making it out of the Least, on a hugely stacked and deep roster to beat GSW without Klay and KD.

Then dumping all over Harden who couldn't beat KD Warriors, or coming up short against LeBron with a sidekick of AD, while having a sidekick of Westbrook.. While averaging nearly identitical numbers. Dude you're a moron. It's like context doesn't apply to your beliefs, just spitting Max Kellerman takes as if they're gospel.
