I'm not at all. You're clearly under the assumption Steve nash got better because he won an award lol

Giannis wasn't as good until he won mvp, harden wasn't as good until he won mvp etc

You literally said he would have never been an MVP had he stayed. Which directly means he wasn’t playing at an MVP caliber level. Upped his scoring and assist totals as you mentioned once he left literally shows he improved. As I already said, he was already a good player but yes he did get better with the new usage and opportunities. To say he was the same level is such a bad take. Whether He won MVP or not, he was playing at an mvp level. A level in which he never reached with the Mavs.

And Giannis was not as good as he is now lol. He improved which led him to being in the mvp conversation annually. Not sure what point you are trying to make.

No, it means MVPs don't get won by the second best player on the team.

Yet when he went somewhere else he was considered the best in the league as MVP…I’m not saying he’s better than Dirk overall but he was
Better in select seasons. Fact is he improved when he left whether he won MVP or not.
 
Hawks gave the Grizzlies a bit of a scare, but bad shot selection cost them.

That doesn't mean he improved it means he was in a better system for him to accumulate stats. Did he get better? Sure, as every player who works on their game adds more and slowly gets better, he didn't go from a role player to an mvp. He was the same talent, just ran a pick n roll with amare at a higher pace

for all intents and purposes of the argument he was the same player he was on the mavs, those mvps mean fuck all. Dirk was a better player when Nash won those MVPs, they're an irrelevant footnote to your argument

he didn't become a better shooter, he didn't open up the floor any better and he sure as fuck didn't play better defense

As someone who watched this entire era intently, you are dead wrong and I have got stats on my side, awards he has won, actual viewership, etc.

You are right in only his defense not improving. His shooting and passing ability did improve or opened up in terms of displaying his passing efficiency. In fact, a big reason he got traded was because he wasn’t trusted to make clutch shots or having to rely on his scoring when Dirk was doubled.

Go ahead and look at his scoring percentage and numbers in Phoenix compared to Dallas. You can continue to say your opinion but at least provide anything to back your claims. You haven’t provided anything but opinion
