NBA NBA Thread: LeGOAT obliterates Kareem's legacy edition

I think part of the problem is that Kyrie and Luka are too similar. They need someone who does things that they don't do.

I always look at Steph and Klay as an example.
Definitely is but as I said earlier it was a more desperate quick trade deadline move. I could see it working but the title they actually play together has been so short they couldn’t gain that chemistry or learn to play together. Now with playoffs so close it’s looking like a disaster

The issue is they have zero perimeter or interior defense and nobody else who's a good shooter.

it's two all pros and a roster of g leaguers
That’s what surprises me this season. They do have good outside shooters but these same guys don’t play defense anymore for some reason. I honestly think it’s scheme and whatever JKidd is drawing up. He has been horrible this season.

Their shooting is honestly not good for the shots selection they get. Luka and kyrie can draw a double and guys can't hit shots consistently with 6 feet of separation from defenders

idk their pull up or mid range numbers but they can't be good

I agree with you there but there’s a difference between having good shooters and actually making the shots. If you look at the roster, the same three point shooters are there from last year who were great. But this season they aren’t for whatever reason. Almost all of their role players are defensive 3 point specialists (Bullock, Hardaway, Kleber, Pinson, Green, etc.).

The moves just didn’t work out in the end. Substituting Dinwiddie and Brunson for Kyrie/Wood is looking like a mistake but I think the blame is on JKidd not figuring it out by now. There have also been a million of games they had a lead or big lead then blew it at the end. That’s coaching more than personnel.

Dallas are 6th in the league in offensive efficiency and fucking 23rd in defensive efficiency. Last season they were 9th!

Instead of trying to fix said defense they dumped their best defenders for a tool that is all sizzle and no steak. Cuban let’s Brunson become disgruntled and walk. Then trades for a worse teammate version?! Those are LeGM level mistakes out of desperation instead of proper team building.

Finney-smith was also a huge loss for them. Another defensive role player who could shoot 3’s. Wish they gave up Kleber or Powell instead of him in the nets trade. Forgot to mention him in my previous comments.

Great game by the Nuggets everything was clicking. Even the bench looked good and they havent looked good since they played Boston a while back.

I always get a kick out of big dunks and big blocks.

People act like a big dunk is worth 10 points when it's worth two like any other two point shot. A big block is harder to determine because sometimes it's not even a change of possession, other times it allows a team to run the court with numbers and can be a four or more point swing.

Style wise though, Green's jam was a monster. Nice to see Denver play a great game, they were playing like shit last week.

Found this post on Reddit and thought it was awesome

"Dude played for Georgetown for John Thompson III *in his first year as coach*, went high in the draft as a versatile offensive wing by the *Sonics* after being part of the "Three Amigos" trades to get *Ray Allen* to Boston. He was then part of the trade that got Kendrick Perkins to the Thunder and got to play with Shaq right before he retired.

Then he sits an entire season out after having *heart surgery* while the Celtics eventually take advantage of Billy Kings unfathomable ineptitude where they trade an eternity's worth of picks for washed Garnett and Pierce.

If you would have told me he was out of the league after the heart surgery, I'd say he had a good run with a lot of interesting historical footnotes.

Nevermind that he proceeds to come back as a full-time power forward and carve a niche out that's lasted for more than a decade.

He's played with the Wizards the year Wall got injured for good, the "y'all look so different" LeBron Cavs, the uber-smallball Rockets where he was the tallest listed player, and the fleeting beauty that was the handful of games the Nets had their full supersquad. Now he's played 1.5 seasons with generational bigman Nikola Jokic - guy's basically the NBA's Forrest Gump."

lmaooo Mavs not making the playoffs fucking embarrassing this team needs a complete overhaul next season holy shit

Lmao @ the mavs. Maybe Luka needs Brunson to carry him again.

Any idea wtf Luka was referring to when he said he had personal issues? Guy seemed super depressed in that clip that was posted recently
