What does this mean? Does a shit tier franchise entice someone to play for them?

It means they have money to overpay a FA who wouldn't normally come to them, like they originally did with Grant.

when you trade two players i thought salaries have to match?

when you trade for a lottery pick, you can just dump salary?

Salaries have to match (with some fuzzy math) if the team is over the cap.

One of my top questions for next season is , Will Zions Fatass fucking play next year ?

Not exactly thrilled about the Grant trade for my Pistons. It essentially extends our rebuild for a couple more years since Grant was our best player. Grant had a nice contract and was an all star caliber player actually willing to play in Detroit which is rare. Wouldn’t be surprised if our record was worse next year.

idk, I think Cade was the best player. Grant had a good start and sort of fizzled out and then got hurt. He’s also old. Now Detroit has cap space, more draft picks and flexibility. If they pick up Ayton, I think its worth it. If they over spend on a guy like Miles Bridges/Brunson, then it’s probably not.

I do like the Blazers team now with Grant but I’d be a little worried about his production.

I think Grant will do fine since the Blazers are in win now mode. Pistons gave him a lot of extra time off then cut his minutes when we got Bagley. I would love Ayton but given Detroit’s free agency history the chances of him coming to Detroit are slim. The Detroit way is to work the trade market.

Detroit would love that. Next year's draft class is apparently stacked and they may have another year of tanking ahead. If they don't tank for the 3rd straight year it means they've likely used the cap space to grab a reasonable free agent. Either way, I don't think Grant was going to fit your timeline so they don't really care.

I was pretty shocked by his market value, but I also understand Detroit moving him.

Can you imagine if Kyrie somehow ended up on the Lakers? This would mean that Kyrie took a pay cut by millions, would leave his beastie, and joined the guy he famously left.

To me, this would say more about Durant than Kyrie. Kyrie and Harden are who we think they were and that is two people who have blown up teams.

Durant would not only have left the only team in the history of sports that puts its players first. He would have left Steph Fooking Curry for 2 of the most destructive players in the history of the NBA.

Kyrie isn't getting traded. This is all posturing by him to make the Nets give him the max. Lakers and Flerps can't even do a sign and trade. Not sure about the other teams.

Most likely.

It’s sad though. He should just go be a weirdo stoner and mind his own business instead of fucking with out beloved roundball.

Different players and all, but the way he is just reminds me so much of Michael Vick. An electric talent and a idiot. And every other coach in the league thought they could get the best out of him, but he was too much of a fuckup to maximize his natural talents. Just like all these teams and players think they can make it work with Kyrie.

Well, guess what hot shot, you can’t.

The Nets should probably cave to Kyrie if they want to keep Durant but no other team should offer Kyrie a max. Philly shouldn't offer Harden the max or super max either but they are tied to him so they may as well.
