Smart is 40lbs heavier than Pat Bev. He doesn't get bullied by wings like Bev does and Smart can even switch onto some bigs. Bev is better defending shooters and getting around screens. Smart is undisciplined but he's really physical. Offensively though Smart is a lot better he does everything better than Bev by a big margin except offensive rebounding.

I remember he defended Giannis well at points in the Bucks series. He's a tank.

But against shooters and players who use screens White is a lot better defending them since he's far more disciplined.

When’s the last time you saw Patrick Beverly switched onto a center, defend in the post and block them?

They can switch smart onto anyone in the game and he’ll defend them at a very high level.
