Native speakers: Can you tell where fighters are from by accent?

Hispanic here yair & Brandon don't have an accent to me hey just sound Mexican
Mexico has various accents, Rodriguez does have one from his state (Chihuahua) and Moreno sounds more neutral, his region doesnt really has one, some sound "mexican american" if they have grown up between countries which is not his case considering his English.

I believe you fam but to me they sound the same Mexican lol

I can’t tell the difference between Australian and New Zealand, but can point the region out. I can also can tell the difference between Irish, Scottish, and British. For Spanish, I can pick out Puertorican, Mexican, and Dominican. I can actually break down Colombian accents regionally but sometimes mix up some of the coastal accents

I can tell if someone is from Serbia, Montenegro or Bosnia/Croatia.
Basically Bosnia Croatia is trickier since Serbians and Croatians also live in Bosnia.

However I can see and hear if someone is from Serbia /Montenegro.

Also sometimes I see Croatians walk down the street, from Croatia and know they are Croatian and hear it when they talk.

I know it's weird.

Now I don't count Macedonia and Slovenia as those are similar but different languages.

I also can spot a German from a group of white people.

All I know is that Robbie hails from CTE city.

Can you explain why? I thought his HOF speech went extremely well. Pretty good for someone who’s been in the game for 22 years. Now go watch a Meldrick Taylor interview if you truly want to see “CTE City”.

I'm not surprised at telling the difference between Croatians and Serbians from their speech, for example Croatians tend to more nasal pronunciations like saying "mlijeko" (milk) whereas Serbians say "mleko". But the walking bit is a new concept to me, can you explain it?

Nah, I work here lol. Real estate isn't that cheap in the city neither :p
Oh nice . Call center? Drug smuggler? CIA agent? o_O

And ah makes sense, honestly I feel like any metropolitan area in the world ain't cheap to buy. I'm sure you could get something cheap in the cuts though ha.

Yeah, everythings becoming more & more expensive :(

Moreno: Doesnt come from a region with an accent.

Rodriguez: Northern (Chihuahua) accent as expected.

PS: i guess the point was their spanish, not their english that is regular and thick accent.

thank you thats the answer i was looking for. I was wanting to know how these guys sound according to their native brethren. So is the chihuahua accent seen as more 'proper' or 'educated' sounding in mexican culture? or is it more of a southern US drawl / hillbilly accent ?

Apparently Charles can barely speak Portuguese( according to Costa LOL). Can a speaker confirm if this true?
To me, it sounds fine, but I can hardly speak it. Am curious now as to if that's why he is so easily intelligible to me. Hope someone with more experience can chime in.

Tbh, I would even say a lot of (American) fighters can barely speak English, so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of these poorer Brazilians are the same, but worse.

I can tell who is Aussie or British, etc. also recognize some american dialects, so that I can spot who is from Texas, west or northern part of the country. I think that must be quite easy. Same for the south Africans, you can almost hear a dutch accent.

I can also tell, who comes from northern Italy and who is from the south, when they speak Italian.
It is easy to tell who is bavarian, austrian, who comes from Berlin, who is from eastern or northern parts of Germany.
You can easily hear who is from Stockholm region and who comes from Skåne. :D

What I’m most proud of, I can tell who is mineiro, carioca and who comes from Sao Paulo, but I struggle with Charles, mostly because he speaks so fast.

None of these is my mother tongue, but I have travelled a lot and studied/worked abroad.

UFC 290 has english in american, south african, australian, etc. Most people in the US can tell if someone is from the south, boston, or NY based on accent. For native spanish speakers, do Yair / Moreno have an acccent. Like does Yair have more 'proper' spanish ? Can you tell where whittaker and volk may have grew up based on their accent or vocabulary ?
Lol are you kidding me? Just look up in Youtube how we speak in Spain and how Mexicans speak and even you will notice.
