Herb Dean was intefering to mess Conor's game up. He's a plant and it's obvious Dana and Lorenzo wanted Conor to lose when he went up in weight so they could negotiate a better contract. They know he will still draw regardless!

1) Herb Dean tells Conor to not grab the fence when he's not grabbing the fence (round 1)
2) Herb Dean keeps warning Conor "action" when he's mounted, which forces him to roll over to give his back (round 2)
3) Dana White is cageside and looks to be smiling when Conor loses (round 2)

In real life there are no gloves, Nate would have been KO'd round one!

the notion of winning the match but losing a fight is used for decisions where the winner of the match is perceived to have taken more damage than the loser. it doesnt apply to fights where there is a finish because conor gave up the fight and the match and his life would have been in nates hands if there was no referee to save him.
