If the ufc ends up making this fight for ufc 200 it should be at lightweight.

Nate has fought at 155 most of his career, he said he could make weight before the last fight. I really see no point in doing this at 155 except so Conor can still use the "he's too big" excuse. Whoever wins, it sets up a good, logical title fight between the winner and dos anjos whereas at 170 it confuses which weight class the winner fights at next since neither are really welterweights.

The UFC have made the fight because if Conor does KO Nate this time the media will champion him like never before but at 170 Nate will take a lot of punishment but if Conors camp make Nate take the cut it isn't that big a risk in my opinion.

Totally agree. I was excited about the announcement... until I read that the plan was to do it at 170 again. It is senseless. Stupid.

If a gatekeeper like Nate can beat Conor at 155 then Conor's ability to dominate lightweight the way he did featherweight is immediately in question. Since we were deprived of the title fight with RDA (which would have definitively answered the question) I want to see the question answered via Nate at 155.

The conspiracies of "if he loses" and protecting him are BS, because it could easily be avoided if he didn't lose in the first place... giving him a fight that's he's likely to lose is not protecting McGregor, UFC always throws guys to the wolves.

if conor wins at 170 it looks amazing and will boost him more. If he loses at 170 it isnt a big deal because the fight is at 170... If he loses at LW, the division he wants to head to, that derails the UFCs money train...

Conor should be defending his title though.. this fight is stupid... just dana trolling frankie really..

They don't let other champs run around in other weight divisions and not put their belt as the most important fight. Beating Nate isn't going to set the world on fire when 10 other men have done it before.

These are not 170 lbs fighters. It makes no sense to have this fight at 170 again.

The only reason they competed at welterweight last time is because Diaz had no time to make weight. This time the fight should be at 155 so the winner can possibly challenge for the Lightweight title.

I also feel like we'll get a better performance out of both when they are forced to weigh in lighter. Let's face it: 170 is too heavy for both McGregor and Nate Diaz.
