For a long time Nate has been thought of as just Nick's little brother, but last night he stepped out of his shadow. So as of now, who is the bigger star in terms of draw and popularity? Nate Diaz or Nick Diaz?

How boring would UFC be without the Diaz boys.....

You are right, Nate took a huge step out his shadow last night

he finished Conor with style.

although Nick faced GSP and Silva, he did not cause either of them any danger

Nick is the bigger star but Nate has the biggest signature win between them I believe. Who knows tho as Nick hasn't beaten may top guys in a while and I don't remember Nick taking home any 500k paydays.

Nate has certainly closed the gap between him and big bro in his last couple of fights.

The Diaz brothers are legends, despite the hate they get around here.

Nate not only faced a huge figure in MMA, he beat him. And he didn't just beat him, he finished him. Nick was the bigger name, but now, you ask anyone on the street about the Diaz Brothers, it's all about Nate.

Nick hasn't won a fight since 2011. I just don't think he has the desire to earn his place amongst the elite anymore. He fights only if he is given a top fight then loses. I would love to see him try and make a legit title run by earning it.

Against Silva, he did

Agreed. This was the signature win Nate was looking for. This put him over big time with the masses. Even if they don't like him, they fully well know who he is, and what he's capable off. And once they get over their hero being felled, i dare to say they'll learn to like Diaz's awesome style, and brash attitude.

Nate is creating a legacy for himself.

I'm happy he is. Guy deserves it. Has put a lot of time into this sport, and given us some great memories. Glad to see him getting his big pay day fights like his big brother.

Agreed.
Count me in as a big fan, Barbarian.....

Nate is the big star now hands down. He got the big money fight and won. Nick lost in his superfights with Silva & GSP. Both are great talents and I love them both tho. Nick is a big star too, he paved the way for his lil bro that's for sure.

Both of them are not stars. Nick can not headline a fight by himself, his ppv numbers are crap unless you put him up against big draw like gsp and Silva. Nate might be a good draw after the conor fight tho.

I've always said Nate can be just as good or even exceed Nick (and that's not shitting on Nick).

Not sure you're serious in regards to hate of Diaz on Sherdog... Sherdog has always been a Diaz haven.

I think Nick will still be bigger amongst the hardcores, but Nate will be bigger amongst the casuals.

Before 196: Nick by far
After 196: Nate by far

To hardcore fans Nick.
After 196 everyone knows who Nathan Diaz is. So many people watched the fight or talked about it on social media.
