Nate just jumped out of Nicks shadow In a big way. Is Nate now the top Diaz?

Yeah, but he will never have the legacy Nick had.

I wouldn't say Nate is better but he is definitely no longer in his brother's shadow.

Nick has still probably had the better career.

I don't think so. I think after Conor finally moves up to LW, we'll realize that he took advantage of a size advantage at FW.

Why? I would argue the other way.

I've always seen the Strikeforce WW division as a "B League" and Nick's success in the top promotion for his weight classes has been easily matched and surpassed by Nate.

It is still Nick > Nate; but at least they are in the same conversation now.

conor was overrated and people should just admit they wanted a white champion.

the ufc hype machine has been debunked. the fight on new year's eve with gracie vs yamamoto was so much better, more exciting.

Outside of Lawler who has nick beat? The ghost of BJ Penn and....

Google search trends Nate vs. Nick. Mind you partial trends within the week of the event is not entirely accurate, but still.

I was just referring to Nick actually having won a belt, regardless of competition.

You could argue for both really. Nate is the man of the moment though for sure.

I think it's safe to assume we all know Nick is the Alpha and rightfully so. Nick and Nate will always be linked together but let's just say that Conor's loss is Nate's biggest win...by far. If Nick had won....we would be calling Nick a bully and just not a nice person to pick on someone like little ol' Conor lol

I like Nate, but not a big fan of a Nick. Don't know why

Hopefully this is the turning point for Nick and he keeps murking everyone in front of him

Nick fought roided Silva,BJ Penn,GSP,Condit, prime Gomi and did pretty well(even the ones he lost)
Nate got KOed by Josh Thomson
I personally believe theyre both world class but
Nick>Nate

Yes but he will always be more shy and quiet infront of nick. Hes the typical little brother.

You will witness it on the JRE podcast.
I wish nate was on by himself

I like listening to Nick, when Nick feels like talking. Nate just has a bit too much anger in him for me; but I still like him and watching him fight, but if his brother wasn't Nick i'd probably dislike him.

If Nate was outside the UFC for a big part of his career he might have the same amount of hype as Nick. Nick beating Gomi is still likely the best win between the two and his run as Strikeforce champ really elevated him to another level in terms of popularity. If Nate was in Bellator or something and was a dominant champ there AND beat McGregor afterwards I think he'd be seen as better than Nick. It's hard to forget the Gomi win and he'll always have that KO over Lawler even though it was way before Lawler was in his prime
