Nate fans, did you like that panic clincher Nate?

The whole "panic" thing was created by Conor, talking about when he has opponents rocked and they shoot in to avoid being KO'd. Clinching or wrestling isn't "panic" when it's just part of the fight. Nate never clinched up with him because he was about to be knocked out, they were both tired as fuck and could barely throw hard punches, so he used his size to try to out muscle Conor. That's part of MMA and has nothing to do with "panic."
 
So you're equating the clinch game(an active one) to running? I've heard it all now.

LOL, Conor fans got to use whatever stepping-stools they can to feel tall these days.
 
Both men had their moments and both men were winded/hurt/wearied. Conor panic wrestled in their first fight. Here, Nate clinched a ton and tried to wrestle, no necessarily out "panic wrestling," but because he also thought he'd have some advantage there probably. He could make Conor carry his weight and gas out defending positions. He could also dirty box and get some shots off the break. He could also make McGregor worry about the TD. Yes, Nate probably frequently initiated the clinch because McGregor was tooling him for the first 1.5 rounds on the feet, dropping him 3 times, but it's not like it was a bad position for Nate to clinch. McGregor "panic wrestled" in the first fight because he wouldn't have an advantage on the ground, yet went there anyway out of desperation. Here, Nate was hurt so he hurriedly chose the clinch to rest up and recover, but it wasn't a bad decision for Nate. In fact, clinching McGregor was probably the smarter thing to do.

I like watching Nate Diaz fight. Win or lose. The guy has tons of heart, and brings something unique to the table. Sure, he's got holes in his game, but he's a hell of a fighter.
