I think both Nate and Poirer had agreed to fight each other, Dustin posted about it already and they are just going over the details on the negotiations.

Dustin is serious. Nate is just using his name to keep himself relevant. Has no intention of fighting DP.

I understand your sentiment because the Diaz brothers both seem to have difficulty articulating their thoughts but Nate has become aware of how the fight promotion game works and how maximize his earnings. One of the few people who understands that loyalty to a company that has no real loyalty to you is doing yourself a disservice.

you know, you're right. it's really easy to be dismissive of Nate, and god knows I have been, but he obviously grasps something that most of these guys do not. for most guys, if they go 1-3 in a six year span, the best case is they get released and go fight for some shit regional org or bareknuckle or whatever. Nate, on the other hand, is probably the second most reliably bankable fighter in his entire sport. pretty crazy, actually

That's a mature response dude, It is strange the Diaz brothers seem to have a better grasp on the reality of the fight game than most people.

Nate could just be doing that for negotiations and to try and force UFC to make the fight by putting public pressure. Same way Conor and Dustin did it by saying they'll do a charity fight away from UFC and how Conor also used it to get the Mayweather fight when both Conor and Mayweather was putting public pressure on the UFC to make the fight.

Dustin and Nate seem to both want the fight and trying to get UFC to make it. Seems like they are both standing by this fight only and making it clear that's the only fight they want next.
