Sure he beat Conor McGregor a featherweight champion whose ego now appears bigger than his ability when he made a huge error to take on a fighter in the bigger lightweight division { this includes the RDA bout } and he made an even bigger mistake to take on another opponent as a replacement , so he lost , it happens but what a gutsy move by Conor Mcgregor for trying something nobody else would have done. He needs to go defend the FW belt and work his way into the LW division .

Now back to the replacement opponent Nate Diaz basically a mediocre but always dangerous opponent who was able to capitalize on another man's foolish mistake.Doesn't change the fact that his skills will not hold up against the top guys in the LW division and he will be defeated by fighters like Khabib or RDA maybe not even Alverez, Ferguson or Pettis for that matter .

Considering a match against Robbie Lawler is like leading a lamb to slaughter but this is the UFC and if the price is right {Estimated PPV Buys } I am sure they are game .......

I agree leading a lamb to slaughter
find Nate a fight at 55

Who cares who he can't beat? We know he can beat McGregor and that's all that counts right now.

Isnt Nate like 2-2 at WW`?
He fights at 155 for a reason. He got handled at 170
He is a light weight fighter.

And a LW should not get a title shot at 170 for beating a 145 fighter.

Does this somehow make you feel better about the fact that he made Conor his bitch? ;)

It's funny- now that the initial wave of Conor trashing has passed, we're now on to discrediting Nate. All he did was what he's there to do- win the fight. We'll see what he can or can't do next.

I agree. The fact that Nate was hovering around 185 pounds when he got the call, means he could not make 155 in two weeks. Conor was brave to take the fight at 170. Gilbert said that if the fight was at 155 those blows in the first round might have KO'ed Nate.

Diaz is a boss, he can beat Jones. This is the fight to make.

plenty of doubt on nate winning ..
oh feed him to conor,,,
conor is gonna do this conor does that,,,,,,well, we seen what happened..
as far as robbie,,,i see a huge chance for diaz... his brother ko'd him with that same boxing, and robbie will be ready, but so will nate,,, would be a good fight, cant believe dana asked for it...

It doesn't matter who he's not going to beat according to a person on a forum.

If the UFC does this, they are just capitalizing on the popularity Nate just gained from exposing the McGregor hoax to sell aWW title fight that he simply hasn't earned and ge will be brutally mauled by a by an absolute monster.

Diaz would beat McGregor 10/10 times. Right now that's all that matters.

I am not discrediting Nate on his win at all he soundly defeated Conor and was the better fighter if anything I think Conor was foolish to believe he could walk into a different weight class and roll over the top 10 fighters .

Stage 2 of major loss.

Deflection.

If they do what? Feed him to Lawler? I certainly haven't heard anything official confirming that and can't imagine it happening. Has it even been seriously discussed?

This is a thread about Conor being overrated and Nate being mediocre.

The fact everyone knows Nate isn't going to be champ makes McGregor look even worse. Nate actually has one of the same glaring weaknesses as McGregor. That's wrestling and wrestling is often dominant at the top of the divisions. At least Nate has a great jj game so has a chance on the ground.

It's funny how much shit people want to give McGregor for going up and challenging himself and losing in what looked to be a very competitive fight initially, given we've watched Nate go up in weight and get literally thrown around and pounded on from bell to bell.

Conor lost and i can live with that. But for the amount of hate directed at him for trying to put on a show (and you can spin it however you'd like, but Conor blew his wad trying to put Diaz out in the flashiest way possible) we can pretty much rest assured we won't see that again, and another era of safety incoming.
