Thought i would create a thread for MMA IQ. I see a lot of great, bad, ko this & that..thats fun too but this is for the folks looking to create a dialogue to increase your MMA IQ. I will start. I was very impressed prior to Nate submitting Conor that he went straight into 'S' mount so Conor wouldn't be put him in half guard. I also enjoyed how Nate didn't look to sink the choke in...often times u see: step 1, then step2. Nate did step .5 , an intermediate step, and put his palm (face up) under Conors chin and punched him in the direction he wanted his chin to face prior to sinking the choke. I left some details out want to see if the homeboys from Sherdog can add some details.

Diaz gripped his clutch, Connor gasped for air, Connor is about to black out but does not want to, Connor taps....Connor McGregor then realizes

"fuck this dude called me on my own shit. He was right I do not believe myself I knew I was a lie"

Nate used his energy more efficiently. Conor said something along those lines multiple times in the post fight interviews.

everything in that fight began and ended with the feet ~ midiflorian

Conor thought he was Bruce Lee, Diaz showed him he wasn't.

I'll actually give you an answer TS. Nate is a beast on the ground and it was like watching a cat play with a mouse before it kills it. Once Conor got wobbled, it was over. Once he shot for the takedown, he gave up. Watching Diaz on the ground was masterful but he was going against a guy that had a suspect ground game and a guy that already gave up before it hit the mat.

its blatantly obvious cesar gracie's team manipulated some of the energy placement in the octagon in favor of diaz, but mcgoat was too selfless and humble to protest. i wouldnt expect anything less from him course

The toughness of Diaz is what got the job done @ 196. CM was never able to intimidate Diaz, despite hitting him with clean, hard shots. Diaz also punched back, taking CM into deep water drowning his ass. I don't think the rematch faring well for McGregor.
