Conor will probably still headline 200 and Nate wil probably fight for the LW belt now if he wants.

He's not wrong. UFC are trying to keep Conor relevant and save as much of his aura as possible before his fight at 200. Conor brings in too much money for them to do otherwise. What is fucked up is they seemingly don't even promote Diaz or his win. IMO, it is possible to do both by focusing on McGregor's status as featherweight champ and Diaz' as a scrapper.

Nate's not getting the praise he should for the win.

You can see it here a lot actually. Few people are saying how great Nate is for winning on 10 days notice. It's all 'Lollllz Conor's ground game!1!! No power! He'd get destroyed by X', with no mention of Nate's skill.

ie: saying Conor is a White Belt on the mat, is the equivalent of saying any fighter could submit him.

You want them to just go out and make a Nate Diaz commercial showing Nate beating Conor.

The headline, as usual, doesn't match the article one bit.

For the most part Diaz is going after fans who are trying to find a win for Conor in all of this.

“I don’t think it’s just the UFC. It’s everybody. People are saying, ‘Oh, [McGregor] is great, he’s accepted the loss so well, If I would have lost, people would be saying, ‘piece of s*** shouldn’t have accepted the fight.’ I don’t mean to be bitter, but there are a lot of excuses being made for this guy. He’s talking about winning the first round. There are five rounds in a fight. Who gives a s*** if you won a round? You lost.”

But that doesn't work well for the editors of these websites, so they make it seem like he was targeting the UFC first and foremost.

The one swat he takes at the UFC I think has more to do with his conspiracy theories than reality. Right after the fight he was shouting the same thing on the Post fight show, about how the UFC will keep him from getting a title shot just like the kept Frankie from getting one and they'll keep doing it. Which is in direct opposition to what Dana said right after the fight, saying Nate basically won himself whatever match he wants next.

This is true, he was still licking Conor's ass after the fight. They are definitely trying to salvage that Conor aura. Another reason I'd be shocked if Frankie gets the shot instead of an Aldo rematch. It would probably be better for Nate though if Conor goes out and destroys his next opponent, would make his win all the more impressive.

To play the devils advocate here...
They KNOW Conor will fight again and thats at 200. So its easy to promote him and try to get some hype back.
With Nate Dana even said he does not know if he will fight again.
Also based on the article in the OP it does sound to me getting a fight with Nate might be difficult.
So UFC promote the easy horse here.
