Owen Hart easily
Owen Hart easily
Him being Bretts little brother and simply having the Hart name surely helped. Would’ve loved to see him not die lol.Did you see his Dark Side of the Ring episode? They talk about how he was about to hit his peak of popularity when he died. It would have taken a couple more years but he probably would've eventually been the third biggest star after Austin and Rock.

i like pillman too, him and steve were coolI had to triple check if these posts are about Owen or Pillman. Owen was a fantastic dude, great wrestler but... ?
Then again Austin was a midcard bum in WCW. So what the fuck do I know.
Test was a casualty of Russo leaving. They just didn't know what to do with him after the wedding with Steph.
Owen was one of my favourite wrestlers of all time, but he was never going to hit those levels. His career trajectory was going down at the end.Did you see his Dark Side of the Ring episode? I always saw him as having a higher ceiling as a Dusty-type everyman babyface than as a heel. Solo, he tops out as one of the best US champs of all time. With a toadie (Sami or Jericho) it just wasn't enough for him to constantly come out on top in this dynamic:Kevin Owens is underpushed, and probably not revivable, but when he came in and beat Cena- with the way he talked and worked, he could’ve been WWEs top heel for half a decade if the machine got behind him.
Giving Owens the Stunner as his finisher is what really did him in. It doesn't look good, and there is no way he can escape the comparison to Austin.I always saw him as having a higher ceiling as a Dusty-type everyman babyface than as a heel. I always said that they should have had a double turn during that feud. Have Owens eke out and escape or a win then have Roman go psycho sore loser after the match. Beat him within an inch of his life. Talk shit in his face about how he's supposed to be the champion. Michael Cole does the JR bit of "You may not like him but, for crying out loud, Kevin Owens has a family!" Get that old time heat. KO was always chasing the laugh as a heel, too. Today's audience would cheer Piper and that's just who KO could have been.
"Haha Roman! All the protein shakes and Hall of Fame family members and you're still just the office's pet project. You can kick my ass all over this arena but, once we get inside those ropes, that's the once place in his world where I'm the champ and you're the chump." These neckbeards and pinkhairs would eat that up like overpriced processed food endorsed by a woke celebrity.
Disagree with this point as well. The pop up powerbomb looks hokey on most of the main roster. He did it to 280lb Ryback ffs. I was a bigger fan of his bullfrog splash (nothing beats the RoH days with the swanton and package piledrivet.)Should have kept the pop up powerbomb. It was super protected and he could hit it on anyone.
Being able to do it on bigger guys like Ryback and Mark Henry is what makes it better imo. I do think his frog splash would be good, but I don't think anyone can use that as a finisher since Eddie died.Disagree with this point as well. He also apparently wasn't one of those "wrestler for life" type of personalities but wanted to end his carreer as soon as he financially could to spend time with his family.Owen was one of my favourite wrestlers of all time, but he was never going to hit those levels. Agreed. It sucks that the pop up power bomb is just for false finishes now. He should use this as a finishGiving Owens the Stunner as his finisher is what really did him in. It doesn't look good, and there is no way he can escape the comparison to Austin.

See, I'm not buying it that uncooked biscuit is throwing 300lb men in th ed air like a pizza. It's Destroyer level. But his frog splash is better than Eddie's because it's another 60lbs coming down on the opponent. (And it's not in tribute to a rapist.)Being able to do it on bigger guys like Ryback and Mark Henry is what makes it better imo. Yeah that's true but he could still have worked on a very limited schedule and have some incredible WM matches with the guys I mentioned. A Brock/Owen match would've been great too.He also apparently wasn't one of those "wrestler for life" type of personalities but wanted to end his carreer as soon as he financially could to spend time with his family.
And they would be completely wrongDid you see his Dark Side of the Ring episode? They talk about how he was about to hit his peak of popularity when he died. It would have taken a couple more years but he probably would've eventually been the third biggest star after Austin and Rock.
