... needs to add that the athletic prime and the prime in terms of ring craftiness doesn't match with plenty of them - Lennox Lewis and Fury for instance used to be much better athletes years before the year I named.
Leonard was quite an interesting boxer in 1987 - so full of confidence.
Ali in the mid-70s was certainly a very interesting boxer to watch.
Roy Jones Jr had his finest hour when he captured the Heavyweight championship against John Ruiz, even though he was heading towards the end of his athletic prime at that point.
Roberto Duran was still interesting in 1989.
