Name one documentary that you feel people should watch and explain why

Love Me

About mail-order brides and the companies behind them. Well, one particular company but it's a really good look at the realities of the "industry." Super desperate/emotionally-stunted guys, professional daters stringing guys along for money, organized crime involvement, and cheesy/sleazy companies who facilitate everything.

I havent seen a ton of documentaries but maybe the most moving one ive seen was "Dear Zachary" from 2008. It'll make you angry but its truly riveting. The events are actually unfolding as its being filmed so as a viewer you are along for the ride with the film maker. They actually changed a law in Canada over the incidents in this movie.

I liked adbudcted in plain sight and the docuseries the staircase.

Also mommy dead and dearest was very good.

There's really no way to explain it, you just have to watch it.

Poto and Cabengo
Chronicle of a Summer
Man with a Movie Camera
American Movie
Memory for Max, Claire, Ida, and Company
Time
Waltz with Bashir
For Sama
Black Mother
Honeyland
Ikebana
F for Fake
My Winnipeg

i am substituting my explanation why with variety. if you want to ask why for any of the above that interest you, i’ll happily oblige.

Not the best documentary necessarily, but I would recommend Budo: the Art of Killing to the other Sherdoggers.

I recommend this to anyone that's interested in Cold War nostalgia.
