Name 1 positive and 1 Negative about PEDS.

Positive - make fighters better
Negative - make fighters better

lulz at the people who think testosterone decreases penis size. it can make your nuts smaller, but then it also works as male birth control. your penis size will not change boys.

Positives: Athletes doing whatever needs to be done to improve performance and ultimately entertain the audience.

Negatives: General public's ignorance of PEDs, as such believing PEDs refers solely to steroids and not the magnitude of products that enhance the many facets of athletic ability.

Positive - Fighters are bigger and faster and stronger and gas out less therefore making for better fights

Negative - Unlevel playing field for those with more money and those who are unwilling to take them.

Roids pretty much ruined fat Ronaldo's career. It's a well known fact that PSV Eindhoven pumped him full of gear (during the early stages of his career) and look at him now; had to retire early, fat/bloated, busted knees, still battling all sorts of injuries, etc... If you abuse anything there will be negative consequences that affect you, directly or indirectly.

Reports suggest soccer star Ronaldo's early steroid use led to current knee injuries
A Brazilian physician sounded off, opining that international soccer star Ronaldo's pattern of knee injuries appear consistent with early use of anabolic steroids. The Brazilian Football Conference (CBF) subsequently threw the doc under the soccer-bus, firing him following the Renaldo remarks.

Dr Bernando Santi suggested that Ronaldo's knee injuries resulted from doping that began when the soccer star came under the tutelage of a European professional team -- PSV Eindhoven. Story at Goal.com. (full name = Ronaldo Lu

This and this. The first point here is a biggie for me.

the thing is, fighting for a living is more dangerous than is taking PED's. I worry about guys getting hit in the head that much, way more than I do them taking medications that may have cumulative negative effects down the road. The drugs can make the hits more violent, but still, clean fighters are still affecting other fighters' health related quality of life down the road, as well as the lives of their spouses and children who will be taking care of them. I am not saying that I think PED's in MMA is okay, just that the starting point for discussions about safety in MMA need to start farther down the road to eventual suffering.

Positive: Aggressive and fast paced fights.
Negative: Health problems for people I don't know or care about.

In short: Give me superhumans doing superhuman shit in all sports.

positive - creates hideous unsightly muscle bound freaks

negative - if steroids are so good then why does rogan need alpha brain?

So much nonsense in this thread...

Injuries, well documented that steroids can have a negative impact especially on tendons, ligaments, knee joints etc. So how people see ped's as meaning less injuries, utter poppycock.

Benefits: Endurance - probably the biggest benefit, enables you to train more often, longer, harder, and last longer in fights.
Negatives: Aside from the obvious long term health risks, its cheating.

I like this thread. A lot of good insight. The reason why I never tried peds is I'm afraid of the dependency it could possibly cause. You might do one cycle this year. Then 2 cycles next year. Then 3. Then 4. Before you know it. You need testosterone just to be able to get out of bed. Your testes no longer produce sufficient test. So if you want any quality of life you have to remain on peds permanently. That fuckin sucks.

But the benefits while you're on them is awesome. Could be very addicting. Imagine training like a beast day after day. Not only that. But looking like a beast. I could easily get used to that.

This is actually a good thread.

Positive - without steroids allowed we don't know if there's someone better in the world thats on peds. With roids allowed you know there truly the best fighter in the world at there weight class.

Negative - it's unfair to make people be less healthy just to be the best at there sport.

Yeah, think about your life with a long term focus, you will be 40 before you know it. you have to live for a long time with the mistakes/abuse you put your body through when you are younger, and medicine doesn't have the answers people like to believe it does. Make health your focus, vanity now can make it hard for you later on if you are sacrificing true health for it.

Extends the careers of the fighters I like.

Tarnishes the reputations of fighters that spilled their blood for us. Sucks.

Positive - more excitement
Negative - needs to be legalized
