I put a little gas in my truck and when I tried to start it back up, nothing. It's embarrassing being broken down at a gas pump, so I wanted to fix it quick and get out of there. Plus the store was about to close and I didn't have a phone on me. I was gonna have to rely on my wits to get me out of this. So I get under the hood and check the battery, and the postive terminal lug had a lot of corrosion on it. I had an old wire brush I keep in there for just such a thing, so I scrapped it clean and realized the terminal lug had broken completely off and half of it was gone. That lug has to fit around the terminal snug for it to work.
I have a lot of tools but almost none of them were in the truck. Just a few old tools strewn about my toolbox. Some old wire strippers, screwdrivers, and 2 adjustable wrenches. So me being the mix of Macgyver and Tony Stark that I am, I had the idea to use the adjustable wrench as a makeshift clamp to hold the lug in place (and avoid touching the other terminal) long enough for me to get home. And you know what? It worked like a charm.
You guys had any Macgyver moments as epic as mine?
