My Haunted House.

There's obviously a troll living in that basement, and he is the one "haunting" us.

What if what is commonly thought of as ghosts, are actually just people living in a different time?

Like, ok, our view of time is linear. It moves in a straight line from past to present to future. But what if time is in reality, happening all at once? And "ghosts" are actually other people in different times, just living their lives doing their thing. And somehow, in some places, the "walls" that separate these times somehow breaks down or gets thinner, and we can catch glimpses of these other times.

I think I just blew my own mind.

Well, think of it like this; people will always try to understand what they can't explain. Many phenomena only 150 years ago would of been called many crazy things.

I like to think that ghost are out there, it's just that science hasn't explained it yet.

So technically, you might be right or at least on the right direction.
 
Have you ever heard of evps (electronic voice phenomenon)? Get an auto recorder and lay it around the house on recored. You could probably catch voices or something.
