This thread is bringing the lulz today haha
Oh right, I forgot about Blanchet winning (somehow):
This thread is bringing the lulz today haha
So? How many times did you burn down London? We burned down the white house.
My favorite part is at the end, you know, when I start getting fucked in the ass.
Dude. The minimum duration is probably required to get the polling stations and staffing organized. I doubt you can go shorter than 36 weeks or it would be a shitshow. Thus election will be a total shitshow at the polling stations. Guaranteed understaffed and probably a big turnout.
Well, if it's a successful gambit it may be due to the large difference in vaccination rates and certain policies between areas that tend to vote liberal versus those that do not--thus having an effect on voter turnout--in which case it would prove correct those who support vaccination. Don'tcha think? My favourite characteristic of Canadian elections is how they happen for no reason in the middle of a pandemic.

My favourite comment in this thread.Canadian English (as well as the Queen’s), you heathen.
How about elections duration?
I'm not saying that will happen but it could have entered into the decision to call the election. Not sure I follow the argument. Are you saying that voter turnout will be higher in more vaccinated areas and skew left?
If that's your pitch, I'm unsure. I think that people aren't happy about being in a needless election, and are very unhappy that Covid is here to stay.
The chances of it being a successful gambit are slim to none. The best case scenario for Trudeau right now is another minority, which means this election was a waste of time.at best.Well, if it's a successful gambit it may be due to the large difference in vaccination rates and certain policies between areas that tend to vote liberal versus those that do not--thus having an effect on voter turnout--in which case it would prove correct those who support vaccination. Any shorter and people would not even get their voting cards by election dayI would prefer shorter durations with more debates
Yeah, that's what I meantDude.
Not 36 weeks, 36 days.
I am not endorsing the stratagem nor the election call. It just occurred to me in the moment it may have been a factor in their thinking in as much as if people make the connection between the Conservatives and the situation in Alberta (for example) even some conservatives may be swayed. But I agree that not only did they miscalculate in calling the election in the first place, they have appear to have badly miscalculated by not having a clear and concise answer prepared when asked for the reason for the call. But funky stuff happens in an election. Pretty much everyone here who is against Trudeau predicted an epic Liberal loss in the last election. The chances of it being a successful gambit are slim to none. I feel the need to point out the use of the words "if" and "may" in this post, making it a conditional statement, a hypothetical if you will. Just FTR.Well, if it's a successful gambit it may be due to the large difference in vaccination rates and certain policies between areas that tend to vote liberal versus those that do not--thus having an effect on voter turnout--in which case it would prove correct those who support vaccination. No but we made England say "No Mas" twice.
If COVID is here to stay it's because of people fighting public health measures. It is so much worse than it needed to be certain people ought to be ashamed of themselves and many more ought to be smacking themselves in the face.
I'm pretty sure the liberals saw how bad shit was about to get because of their actions in the last 6 years and decided to hold an election during a pandemic for that reason. Their stock was probably going to go way down in the next 6 months as the country nosedives and they realized they had to call it now because it will be way worse odds of getting votes later.I am not endorsing the stratagem nor the election call. I have to say, I actually still think the Liberals would do the best job for Canada if they were to win, but it would be pretty funny if Trudeau Elizabeth May'd himself right out of office.
my favourite part about canadian elections is ppl dont even get to choose their prime minister.
hes chosen by his own party and appointed by governor general on behalf of the queen
