So every time I watch a UFC event with my father that happens to feature Mighty Mouse my father always says the same damn thing and it's getting annoying. He always says "Pete can beat that pumpkin pop".
Pete is his brother, my uncle. And I'll be honest, he is somewhat of a bad ass. I've actually seen him in a street fight before when he fought his wife's coworker because he thought the guy was making advances. My dad also has told me many stories of Pete tearing shit up at bars and parties. And you can just look at the guy and his 6'2 frame with solid muscles all over and know that he's best to not fuck with.
But none the less I tell my dad that there's a difference between guys who are tough on the streets and guys who actually make a living fighting professionally. And that despite Pete being nearly twice Mighty Mouses (pumpkin pops) size, Pete would still lose for lack of knowledge and fighting fundamentals. But he's stubborn and always insist that "if Pete grabbed pumpkin pop he would fling him. Pumpkin pop wouldn't land a strike cause he wouldn't reach Pete. And plus I've seen Pete knock a 6'5 marine on his ass down by the lake one summer".
It's so weird how someone like my dad could watch so many UFC events and still not understand the dynamics of Size vs Skill.
