My argument for Izzy being a TOP 10 all time fighter

Gsp has 12 ww defences and there not consecutive wins.. hes more like 9 I think it is or 10
Ps bisping was for the belt at mw and not a title defence thos fights arent counted as defences idk why people always put thier biased ways into everything

You have JBJ then MM Demetrius Johnson then Anderson silva top 3

And yeah izzy with his 8 is super good def looks like he made it thier

The only universe where Izzy is a Top 10 fighter of all-time, is one that is just obsessed with statistics like ‘title defences’.

Do you understand to be a goat it's all about title defences because thier whole career it's what they strive to do is just be good enough to get the belt and then hold on to it.. and the fighters are the ones who made this unwritten rule before it became the law ..

And it's not just us sherdoggers make it up or going by our own opinions..
If people got what they wanted they can make an arguement to cement anyone in the top 10 all based on who they faught.. even unranked guys.. or guys beating in ranked guys or going off names like names hold any water 20 years from now..

Champions fight the top 5 always.. therefore the best fighters in thier division weather those guys were a dress or lost a fight to a soccer mom thier still the respected top 5..

And the champs are the best in thier division and defend against them.. does this not make sense to you???

Fedor Emelianenko - no title fight.

Does the fight somehow become more difficult when a piece of leather and gold is on the line? Nonsense, right?

Izzy has some extremely high, highs. That said, he has a lot of weird ‘lows’.

Usually, it means you’re facing one of the top ranked fighters in the division. There are some instances where this isn’t the case. But the exception doesn’t make the rule. For example, I wouldn’t consider Conor McGregor to be a greater lightweight than Tony Ferguson because he’s got a legitimate title win, where as Ferguson has none for the simple fact that Ferguson has more elite, top ranked wins. Or another example, to me Yoel Romero is a greater middleweight than Michael Bisping because Yoel just beat more, better people (even if he never got the title or defended it like Bisping did). But again, the exception doesn’t make the rule. This seems like the logic a Khabib fan would make to try and justify his lack of elite wins and title defenses versus people like GSP, Jones, Aldo etc.

Only thing good thing I can say about Izzy is he's ridiculously active and he's not picky about who he defends his title against, well okay minus the one instance where he ducked a Poatan rematch after finally beating him

I don’t believe that how many times you defended the belt is as impressive as what you did defending it. Only Khabib finished 100 percent of his title defenses and never lost to anyone . Nobody else comes close.

His amount of QUALITY wins in such a short time is nothing short of extraordinary!!!! He doesn’t get credit from me for losing to Jan at 205(I don’t think losing is cool just because you “dare to be great”) and it’s a bad loss to have on your record. He also shouldn’t get an immediate rematch against Sean but Izzy is such an amazing entertainer and fighter! Love the guy, hope people appreciate his activity as a champ because we won’t see someone do it like him for a long time. His run was fantastic and it was great to see a champ defend as often and against an absolute lineup of killers! He’s probably top 10, he’s in mine for sure

The days of guys having 100 pro fights is almost over, Izzy is someone who harkens back to those days

No one is saying that "destroys", but title defenses streak is one thing and title fights wins is another. Title fights wins doesn't mean anything compared to title defenses streak, this is a fact. Longevity streak is everything in a GOAT discussion.

And, no, Adesanya doesn't have 8 "title defenses" in no world you can imagine. Casual or dishonest take, or maybe both...
