My anti capitalism friend just started a business

You mean like Venezuela, Cuba, or the former Soviet Union?

No. In socialism you don't own anything. There are no possessions. Its called socialism for a reason. Everyone (really the state) owns and shares (if the state allows it) everything.

If you want to put shingles on your house (the communitys house that you are ALLOWED to live in) because your roof leaks you have to write your local politician to see if you are ALLOWED to put shingles on. You will most likely be told to enjoy your free healthcare and your leaky roof.

Uhhhh no I mean in all other states that have progressive taxation, some have 70 or 75% as the highest threshold.

You clearly don't know what the word socialism means so there's little I can do for you, maybe read the wikipedia page.
It means the party thinks the economy exploits the workers and workers should own the means of production. You can be a socialist within a democracy and accept private property (with limits to it). If you think socialism = Venezuela that's because you believe propaganda. You can always learn.

Maybe for the rich they do.

Oh, so I guess Venezuela wasn't socialist? Thanks for clearing that up. Guess I was the one brainwashed by propaganda, eh comrade.

According to marxism you have to divide the type of posessions in 2:

1. Personal posession: You own your house, car, furniture, whatever. That is yours and no one elses.
2. Means of productions: These are the ones that are public and run by an organization. Basically everything that produces money.

So I don't get where you get your definitions but you are consistently wrong.

???
Russia and Hungary are right wing (as I assume you are seeing your bias), do I bring up Hungary every time you say you're not a leftie? No, that would be idiotic.
So why would you ever assume socialist people like Venezuela?

My friend, Venezuela is not socialist. Specially according by your definition.
The state owns nothing but oil explotation there... luckly because they did an incredibly terrible job managing it, can't imagine if the own the rest.
The rest of the companies keeps being private.

If we go by the book socialism should be basically organized by Democratic Centralism.

Thing is that it never got installed anywhere (maybe in France 1871 for like a few days?) because revolutionary leaders never gave up their power and became authoritarian.

Also hold up there
How would 70% tax for the highest income only work for the rich?

Are you claiming every country with progressive taxation beside the US only works for the rich? Dude you literally don't know anything

How did I say that would work for the rich? Hopscotch, you litteraly don't know anything.

That wouldn't work for any freedom loving individual. A 70 percent tax only works for brainwashed soyboys and their freedom hating husbands.

How can a worker own the means of production at a business they didn't start?
Did they just show up one day and say "you know what, I think I will own this now"?

The answer is that they cant. But they can be brainwashed into thinking they own part of something really owned by the state that takes 70% of their income. They would pretty much be paying to work there.

How dare capitalists think they can actually own something they worked hard for and paid for! Let us jelious cry bags......I mean......socialists rise up and take it!

Yeah, good luck with that soyboys.

@I am your real dad it's really really hard to talk to you.
You have basically zero information, refuse any information people provide to you, fail to grasp the concepts you're trying to discuss even in a logic way, incur in logcal fallacies basically every two sentences.

It really is disheartening. One should erase your brain and start over.

I dated a vegan once, although when I cooked food for her I just told her it was vegan. The rice was actually cooked in chicken broth, vegetables were actually sauteed in butter, etc. etc.

At least she didn't force it on her kids, I give her props for that.
I like meat, a lot of it, but if someone has made the choice not to eat animals I can respect that, and serving them something that isn't vegan under false pretense would be a GIANT breach of trust and a huge POS move. And to do that to someone who you are dating, that's low.

I dated a vegan, but she was a great girl. Never tried to force anything on me, never made a big deal out of it.

As a vegan I have to say even if you're looking from the outside, you have NO IDEA how many vegans think of themselves as communists. Many of them are good people, many of them are assholes.

I have way more vegans blocked on social media than non-vegans, by a fucking long shot.

Easy boy.

I'm not making a judgement on which system I advocate to. I'm just correcting the lack of theoric knowledge in basically everything you post.

You still haven't answered my questions and keep contradicting yourself. That is why you get defensive, call me a soyboy and try to close the conversation.

On one side you say that in socialism there is no posessions (not even personal) and on the other side you claim a state that sets a 70% income tax is socialist. You realize those 2 don't match at all right?

He just hit a wall with all his contradictions and can't get out of that so he tries to shitstorm his way out of a discussion.

Funniest thing? I'm not a communist and I'm pretty sure you aren't either. But he gets all mad about it lol.

I was 7 years with a girl who was between vegetarian and vegan (went from one to another). Also never tried to push it on myself.
She would even cook meat for me. Her meat empanadas were awesome.

Asshole people is just asshole. No matter if its with their food, political views, religion, etc. Assholes are assholes and non assholes are not.

Yeah no, I'm no communist either. I just get upset when propaganda and stupidity muddy the waters

I would point out most of the issues in Venezuela and mismanagement are actually outside of the oil sector

Yeah! F**k capitalism!!

Send from my iPhone.

My anti capitalism friend, who posts almost daily about how capitalism is ruining the world, just started a vegan cooking business and I really want to roast him on the Facebook post he made. I don't think he'd take it well so trying to refrain but damn I just really wanna be like "thought you didnt like capitalism? welp welcome to the ranks brother" ...

Even if you don't like capitalism it's still the system you live under, sounds like he won the arguement previously and you're just looking to score points, not realising you're not gonna score anything.

What a surprise, a socialist wants to erase someone's brain because they don't like the way they think.

You can't own property, you can still own personal items.

A 70% tax is socialist. Socialists need that percentage of your income to force doctors to treat and force teachers to teach.

Force doctors to treat and force teacher to teach? Damn. I was worried that they were going to force teacher to treat and doctors to teach.

BTW.. how exactly the state is collecting taxing from you since they own everything and they pay you your salary? It would not be easier just to cut your salary to 30%?

I mean.. in your fantasy world the state runs everything. Right?
