L. Thomas gets a lot of hate here and most of them are fair since he's a SJW moron but here he is on point, talks about the issues with this fight and why LHW/HW is in a terrible spot and what UFC could do to fix it. (kinda)

I totally agree with him, not only with his opinion about the fight itself and it booking, but also that UFC should go back to cut people more often to have less fighters/cards and a season of DWTNCS should be happening at least every 3 months, they also should make a Eastern Europe version, since they already are making a BR version and the north american was a sucess.

How many “street” terms did he use to try to sound cool? I’m not gonna listen.

Give it a free pass this time, he's 40 year old man having a existential crisis it seems, what he says this time makes A LOT of sense

Lukes annoying, but he's a smart guy. Learn to filter through his videos, and you'll pick up some good info.

Some of the dumbest arguments ever made.

- "the problem is there are no contenders at HW or LHW"

ok, Stipe vs COrmier helps solve that problem. Those divisions can further develop while stipe and cormier fight.

There really is no loser in this. Fans dont lose, the divisions dont lose, the promotion doesnt lose.

Nothing this guy is saying makes sense. Getting rid of Stipe vs COrmier doesnt solve any of the problems he's talking about.

And super fights between champs should be part of "DIvisional Maintenance". Theres always a point where a champ doesnt really have any real contender people are clamoring for. That's when you can use champ vs champ superfights to allow those divisions to further develop the undisputed contender (ie: "Divisional Maintenance").

His problem isn't that specific fight, is the trivialization of superfights, if that happen in 2018 with Cyborg/Nunes and DJ/TJ then we had, since 2016: Conor/Alvarez, Bisping/GSP (retired champion), Miocic/DC, Cyborg/Nunes and DJ/TJ. 5 superfights in a timespace of 2 years, and before that UFC went for half a decade without these type of fights, the last ones had been at '07 with Randy and '09 with BJ.

This shows that UFC is getting desesperate and their solution is totally short-term focused, without thinking about the sport itself in a long-term way.

He also spoke a little about that. It's very possible that even with some time given to with these super fights, the division doesn't producee a new contender because like he said, we have this problem of old guys like Glover/Gus/Werdum/Hunt beating new guys and stopping them from getting into title contention. Scouting is essential.

Not only that, but we could very well LOSING legitimate contenders in the process of "waiting for a real contender", what if Gus fights Volkan next and loses? Or if Werdum, that could get a titleshot right now, fights Ngannou and loses? Then you wanna see this 2 guys that just fought go against the champs again? No, you probably don't.
