Muscle milk twice a day?

Yup, serious. You're telling me its NOT in fact a mix of casein and whey protein? I mean, it says it right in the ingredients. I dont claim to be a genius, nor do I know everything about protein and nutrition, but I know a fair amount, and I can read an ingredient label.

I dont see why you would get so upset about it. Maybe I dont know the ratio of casein to whey in Muscle Milk, it could be 10:1 for all I know, Im just going off of what I read on the label, and the fact that Ive used it for two years now with great success.

Im not trying to start shit, Im just asking.

WOW are you retarded? Vedic was correcting you by saying that there was more casein than whey in it. I want to here vedics response lol

What ever happened to good ole fashion food ie steak, chicken, fish, eggs, rice, pasta, oatmeal? It seems like so many people get so obsessed over which protein drink to use that they forget that they are supposed to be used as a supplement and not a replacement. The OP can drink as many muscle milks as he wants but to make great gains he has to eat a well thought out solid food diet as a foundation.

well if u looked what i wrote in my daily intake you see i include all of those things, except i didn't include pasta bc i'm not a big pasta fan and don't eat enough of it to put it into my daily intake. but i do eat oatmeal along with all of the other stuff you wrote. i even said steak and potatoes is my favorite meal. im pretty sure you just read my opening post and responded without reading anything else.

you need to drink it 3x a day if you wanna get TUF

thanks for the advice, but im thinking anything less than 10 times a day really isn't going to get me anywhere.

It is, but primarily a whey protein. Basically my question is, why would you take two different brands of protein, unless one was whey and the other was casein, or if one is a weightgainer?

What's a weight gainer protein compared to whey or casein?

You're asking the wrong questions. It's not whether MM has whey in it or not, it's what else that is in there (fat mainly) and when you should be consuming fat/protein/carbs. During your workout and post-wo fat is not necessarily the best thing to be consuming. Whey is generally better post-workout, with some carbs. MM (or more correctly, the nutrient profile of MM) has its place in a sound nutrition plan. During and post workout is probably not the best time for it.

Now you know.

As XTrainer basically said, just because you like the taste better, doesn't make it optimal compared to straight whey protein depending on the time of day in relation to your workout.

I used to drink MM for breakfast. It was pretty tasty.

I just can't imagine how expensive it'd be to have it twice a day.

the only thing i don't do is take something pre- workout. I know i should go through the stickies but what do people usually take, whey or creatine? any recommendations on which kind/brand?

What I do is take a peri-workout drink consisting of hydrolyzed whey protein mixed with maltodextrin and dextrose. It also has BCAA's in it. I order it from trueprotein.com and the ratios are 30% whey, 30% malto, 30% dextrose, and 10% BCAA's. I actually just ordered 3 more pounds of it yesterday and it only ran me about $30. Definitely recommend it.

Sorry if you misunderstood my post. It was not directed at you (I agree with what you had previously posted) but at the OP and people who obsess about how many shakes they should be drinking but then eat only 1-2 solid meals a day.

i am the op....lol

There's no need to overthink things or have a bunch of others overthink for you. It's a fairly easy answer. Yes, it's perfectly fine to consume two muscle milk shakes a day. The bedtime shake is solid choice and using the second shake as a meal replacement or just for additional calories works well too. I would look to incorporate the additional shake sometime pre-wo.

If you are going to correct someone, at least be correct yourself. The main protein in it is casein. The exact same as their evo pro product. Different types of protein are beneficial, so what is the point of your question?

I thought it was more casein than whey. Dude had me scratchin my chin there.

Just look at Evo Pro or the ingredient list. The main ingredient is always first followed by the next most abundant and on and on.
