Muscle Milk or Myoplex?

I plan on taking MM twice a day. So can somone tell me if it is better to take post workout or pre bedtime?

The problem with MM isn't the calories, it's the saturated fat. Forgive me, I don't have a tub in front of me but I thought MM's sat. fat was like 15g or something like that. That's about as much saturated fat as an entire pack of bacon dude.

8g of saturated fat, 80% of which is MCTs. I'm sure you know about MCTs, but if not theres some info in the FAQs. You really can't compare the saturated fat in MM to the saturated fat in bacon.

If you're set on that, I'd use it as my first and last meal of the day. Or, pre-workout and pre-bedtime. As mentioned, MM sucks for PWO.

MM is more of a replacement. It's mainly casein. It's not for PWO because that's why you aim for whey.

If you're at the house, you don't need to replace a meal, you need to learn to prepare a meal. Eat some whole foods. Replacements are for when whole food is not an option.

If you're really so lazy, you should ask yourself if you have the discipline necessary to do what it takes in the other aspects of your training to excel.

Do not take MM post workout. Post workout you want to take something with a large amount of whey (preferably hydrolyzed whey protein).

I use Muscle milk strictly as a pre-bed supplement; that's just me though. Some people use it on off days AND as a pre-workout shake, which is fine. However, make sure to pay attention to how many calories you're taking in as these shakes are around 350 calories a serving (in water)

i use it with reduced fat milk. taste awesome that way.

bro, cottage cheese before bed. you're at home. eat some cheaper whole food.

save the supplements for when you're stranded out at work or something and whole food is not an option.

MM =

cal 350 (160 from fat)
total fat 18g
sat fat 8g
cholesterol 5mg
sodium 200mg
potassium 600mg
total carb 12g
fiber 0g
sugars 6g
protein 32g

i use it for a MRP at work with no other alternatives available to me. i'd like to see a little less sat fat and a little more non-sugar carbs but it's fine.

I've heard about cottage cheese pre-bed before; is it a casien protien base of whey? Also, is there anything bad about consuming the high sodium in cottage cheese before bed?

Protien Primer from the FAQ

Sodium at bed is the same as any other time, just likely to hold a bit more water. Drink extra water the next day if you're concerned.

I like to make my own protein shake...so I know there won't be any fillers.

Unflavored almond milk
Stevia as a sweetener
Organic peanut butter
Jay Robb's Egg Protein
Two bananas

I'm thinking about adding some coconut oil to the mix.

So the gereral concensus here is:

Meal replacement - MM
PWO - ON?

Obviously you'd have your good foods and regular diet etc.

omg, so a PWO protein (ON gold), a between meal protein (MM) and a before bed protein (syntha-6).

that's overkill isnt it? if you were to make 2 choices of the 3 which would you get?
