Gym/Training Muay Thai Gym Q&A

fyp :)

Edit: any particular reason you don't train in the morning?

They don't have a normal training session in the morning. Just running and a bit of light pads if they have a fight coming up.

Some mornings I go over to Petchyindee.

The hotel is nice, but the picture make it look better than it is. One good thing is it is a block away from Soi Cowboy. So among other things you are going to get outstanding som tam and moo ping. Isaan girls won't put up with shit food. lol

Yes a motorbike taxi. A taxi car will not know where to take you. The gym is deep in the slums.

Just say Kaimuay Kaowsip Hok Peenang to the motorbike taxi and they will know where to take you.

If you're looking to stay in that area, I stayed here and liked it quite a bit:

Hey guys,

Is it advisable to book accommodation at a camp (Phuket Top Team) for 7 months in advance? I would not pay for training until I got there.

I'm just thinking to reserve my place, incase it sells out in the mean time?

Thanks!

Popular camps sell out fast, if you are booking PTT, I'd do it once you book your ticket or 2-3 months in advance. I booked Sinbi 1 month in advance and they only had 1 room that fit my criteria. I've heard of PTT being full on accomodation sometimes so I would book early, but not too early if plans can change.

How easy is it to get products such as supplements like creatine, BCAA's, protein, casein, multi-vitamins and Omega 3? Also do these gyms also have weight rooms or are they often at other locations? If so, what are costs associated with that. Am starting to plan my summer trips for next year and a month or two in June/July.

Easy, some gyms and fight stores import them due to demand. They are more expensive due to being imported though. Some gyms have weights, some don't, and some charge for it. Just do your research first.

Given the costs associated, as you described, not that that is of any concern, is there an issue with bringing stuff into the country? I have not had issues traveling into other countries, but each one is different.

Given what I have seen, so far, and largely based on the fact I would rather stay in a nicer place, would be looking at Phuket.

No problems bringing in your own stuff, just have them in their original packaging and unsealed if possible. We all bring our own supplements to save on costs.

Can anybody let me know what the level of English is like at some gyms in Bangkok (Kaewsamrit, Keatkhamtorn etc) or sitmonchai (katchanaburi) as my Thai is still pretty rusty at the moment and I'd love to head back in the next few months and train here ? Any suggestions also awesome :)

I was at Kaewsamrit years ago and there wasn't much English being spoken by anyone. Same goes for the area surrounding the gym. Things have more than likely improved since then, though.

Just extended my tourist visa at the Phuket Immigration office. I got lost going there and it took me an hour to get there. The photocopy and photo office closes from 12-3pm so go early. Other than that, you talk to the farangs at the information table and they will give you the proper forms and you fill it out, let them check it, and the immigration officer will look it over, take your money, and tell you to take a seat. Then in 5-7 minutes he will stamp everything and you are set to go. Was pretty simple, it was raining hard on the way back so I wish I took a taxi instead of driving my motorbike.

Was in Patong this past weekend and stayed at Bangkok Residence. Wasn't impressed with the nightlife, people in the clubs looked bored. Everyone at the ping pong shows were having fun. If you aren't watching ping pong shows or smashing hookers, Patong at night won't be that great. Jungceylon is still awesome though, I've been there every weekend to watch a movie.

Just moved to Naiya Buree, used agoda to get $20 a night. Room is much bigger and cleaner than the camp. Living at camp is good though if you are lazy and need motivation to train. Mostly guys stay there. Hopefully no more hookers coming by at night.

I made the mistake of going to a ping pong show on Soi Dragon. It was fucking awful. Patong's a dump, but Rock Hard isn't so bad. Air con, a few good looking girls, and no pressure. And usually half-way decent music.

I'm scheduled to check-in to Naiya Buree this arvo; I'll probably see you around Deathstriker. Not yet sure if I'll start training the next day or the day after. Still have my shoulder injury; although it's a little better.

Sounds good, I'm on the first floor by the back and a hot girl from our gym is next to me:)

Here is my training montage video, finally up! Dave is going to upload the pics for me soon. Internet is weird at my hotel so I won't have too much access. Being doing quite a bit of tours and Chiang Mai has been great so far, good place to go shopping.

Tried some tiger penis whisky in Laos today, I think I will be able to go all night lol.

gonna test chay yai while you are in chiang mai or what?

That's why I signed up with Sinbi, and it was a great choice because there were a lot of hot girls to hang out with. Phuket isn't so bad, I actually liked it because there is something for everyone. I like Chiang Mai too, much better place to go shopping.

I'm pretty much done training muay thai right now, I'm trying to take tours and get in everything Chiang Mai has to offer.
