MSG Card potential match-ups

After a huge week of fights we now have some potential match-ups for the MSG card in November. Dana said this card will be as stacked or even more than UFC 200.

Most likely fights
McGregor/Aldo 2
GSP vs TBA
Weidman/Rockhold 2 (This is a no brainer)
Edgar/Hollaway (Both guys solid replacements if Aldo pulls out)

Other possible options:
Alvarez/Khabib (Khabib is pushing for this card)
Joanna/Rose Namjunas (JJ said she wants to fight on this card as well)
Nunes vs Pena
Nick Diaz vs TBA (His suspension is over in August)
Cruz/Dillashaw 2
Brock/Fedor (Fedor is a free agent and hopefully WWE lets Brock return)
DC vs Rumbler/Texieria winner


Not an option:
The heavy weight title and MW title being in September and October rule out those fights from being on the card. (Stipe/Reem and Hendo/Bisping). Dana already said Ronda won't recover from knee surgery in time to make this card.

Are we already doing this bullshit? We did this for UFC 200 and we ended up with a shit show, don't be so unrealistic.

You have to admit UFC 200 was stacked on paper and still ended up a pretty solid event. I don't know about you but I am pumped for MSG.

Yeah but GSP, Brock & McGregor on one card is just completely unrealistic, there'll be 2 title fights max.
 
I could see Uriah Hall on this card somewhere. Perhaps a rescheduled Anderson, Vitor or Machida match up would be good for him.

I didn't read after I seen Gsp was co main to mcgregor ...
There is no shot in hell he would co main him. It would be one guy or the other on the card.
They can give Gsp his own card anywhere in Canada with nobody on it and it will sell out and draw 1 million plus pay per views and same with mcgregor. I feel it would be unlikely they would do that. It's stupid in my opinion

If Rousey isn't coming back for this card and decides to fight on the end of the year card instead of waiting until the super bowl card, and the year ender is a west coast card, i'd almost bet Nick may end up on that card with her.

A Lewis/Nelson rematch makes zero sense to me.
Frankie, Bermundez, and Faber have publicly said multiple times they want on that card, but I don't know who their opponents would be at this point.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Rose Namajunas for the Strawweight title

Frankie Edgar vs. Max Holloway

I was tempted to put Alvarez/McGregor for the LW title to be different and because it'd piss people off. But it's already in doubt that McGregor will make this card at all, with it being < 3 months after Conor/Nate II, so I didn't want to add extra unrealism.

I chose Ferguson over Khabib because he deserves it more and is a more exciting fighter, which is something the UFC obviously wants.

I think Rose will beat Karolina. And even if she doesn't, they might be more likely to do Joanna vs. Karolina in Poland. Jessica Andrade is the go-to choice for if the winner of Rose/Karolina isn't available or suitable for whatever reason.

Weidman and Edgar surely have to be on the card. They need to make it up to Jacaré for not giving him the title shot, and this is the next best thing. It just makes sense to have Edgar/Holloway on the same card as McGregor/Aldo. The alternative was putting Frankie against a BW but I don't know who to choose.

I'm not going with Diaz or Lesnar or GSP or Anderson unless I'm given a specific reason to. They're all possibilities but at the same time they're all longshots until we have reports of likely fights. Also, the UFC might want to save GSP's return for Toronto or Montreal.

I chose LW and SW title fights over LHW, WW, BW, and WBW title fights. Alvarez is from the general area being from Philly, and trains with Edgar, plus putting the LW title fight on the same card as McGregor sets up a future fight. JJ specifically requested NYC, unlike the other champs, which is the only reason she gets the spot over them.

In the seemingly unlikely event that Jones gets cleared by USADA, Jones/DC II would be on the card instead of one of the title fights.
