wrong, you are extremely inconsistent as you have a pro gay agenda, its as clear as day. when I hear about you sticking up for other minority groups (gingers, cripples, polygamists etc) then I will know you are the real deal, in the meantime you are just a pro gay hack, and that doesn't make you stand out very well, because we already have a zillion of those and your power to annoy isn't as strong as theirs
What? I don't see how those other groups are topical here but I've no problem with things like the ADA (though I am aware of potential and actual abuses).
As for gingers, they're all evil and should burn.

Even if I didn't advocate for every other minority group () how would that make my views here inconsistent or make me incorrect for pointing out that your views are inconsistent?

Had to reply to this. I now this was like a dozen pages ago, but the last dozen pages have been nothing but an argument between some people who will soon be swept, along with their religion, into the dustbins of history, and people who aren't crazy bigots.

A world with values entirely directed by a central political authority. Careful what we wish for!

In a short time, you could be a crazy bigot for saying something bad about the government.

you know, you could be the real deal, but in a world like ours where its "fashionable" to be the way you are, I just cant see it, especially as you are always so eager to get one up over me or anyone else, this is a personal thing for you, I understand and respect that, but you are just too "samey" to really stand out

my position is very strong, because it will remain unchanged despite changing social dynamics and peer pressure. you may not think its right, but its stronger than you think. see, im not the kind of guy to devote myself to a particular ideology "because everyone else is"

That doesn't make the position strong, it makes it stubborn. I can think that the sky is blue because of methane from our farts, it isn't a strong position because I believe it despite how many scientists tell me I am wrong.

I mean, that thinking is more flawed than your thinking on gay marriage

my thinking on gay marriage?, lulz, you think we should change an old tradition to suit a particular group of people, but not others?, is that right jukai?

This is only a mildly personal thing for me. I have some friends and some family who are gay and who this would and has affected. In no cases are they particularly close friends or family. I do, however, consider this to be a real civil rights issue. If it is any consolation I routinely argue against gun control legislation as I work with and socialize with very liberal people.

Frankly I find conversations like ours as useful exercises in discussing and highlighting inconsistencies in positions. Such conversations are what actually led me to my current position on gun control despite the fact that I don't own any guns. It also has led to some reassessment (still in progress) regarding views about intelligence collection vis-a-vis other countries. If, at the end of such a conversation, my position were lacking I reassess my position and change or modify it.

Hey, way to devalue everyone's opinion on this subject while simultaneously patting yourself on the back for utterly failing to defend yourself here.

Again, it isn't an old tradition. Your view of "traditional marriage" is a view of how marriage has been characterized over a very narrow period of time.

This post suggests that contrary to previous interactions you're not really interested in honest discussion.

you know, you are actually an interesting dude when you are not trying to score the match winning point all the time...

Again, I don't give a fuck about winning a point. I give a fuck about figuring out if arguments are valid.

I think we should change a recent (proven beyond a doubt not old) tradition to suit a particular group if the majority of society deems it acceptable.

I believe people have the right to combat that change by bringing in their theories and opinions, and I also realize that the people pushing for that change and have a vested interest in it don't need to sit quietly while people shit on them.

yes it is, it really is an old tradition, the variations of marriage that you are looking towards are so obscure (even in history) that they are not worth taking on board.

Hey, way to devalue everyone's opinion on this subject while simultaneously patting yourself on the back for utterly failing to defend yourself here.

thanks jukai, you know im right....

I'm a hairy, six foot, 240 pound man who regularly buys his clothes at CostCo or Target. Nice to know I'm finally fashionable.

My wife would be pleased since she regularly points out that we make a hell of a lot of money and I should dress better.

The old tradition was that a woman was effectively sold as a brood mare and house keeper from one man to another. Very often a man could possess many such women. Such exchanges were rarely, if ever, regulated by government.

Leave it to Beaver is not an accurate representation of how marriage has looked throughout history.

Further, tradition for tradition's sake is rarely a compelling arguments. Finally, the issue isn't what you consider marriage to be but how marriage is recognized in a legal sense.

You don't deserve to have a platform for your voice, glennrod. Your posts demonstrate clearly to everyone that you're not even a mediocre intellectual. You are a below average, and extremely limited thinker when it comes to these topics. A notch below TCK of that's possible. Which is a shame, because you've contributed well on other occasions in the heavies.

On topic, I'm concerned about the precedent this might set but ultimately I don't think the promotion of these sorts of views should be accepted. And I'm not surprised that a progressive company like Mozilla have responded harshly to this discovery.

Oh someone else ganging up on TCK huh? "a notch above tk of that's possible"?, thanks for recognising my contributions to the mainstream shit hole that is the heavies, I appreciate that, I also see TCK as a solid poster, so im not going to feel disparaged by that particular remark. In my eyes you are beneath me, simply because everybody deserves a platform for their voice as long as they are not peddling hate, which im not, you have simply decided that I am beneath you because I don't support gay marriage, and quite frankly, that is dissapointing
