Significant Ground Strikes Landed, UFC History - @MJCflipdascript

  • St-Pierre, 461 (22 fights)
  • Edgar, 383 (22 fights)
  • Couture, 335 (24 fights)
  • Hughes, 332 (25 fights)
  • Ortiz, 319 (27 fights)
  • Fitch, 308 (18 fights)
  • Nurmagomedov, 289 (9 fights)#UFC219

That's a list of fighters I never searched on Fight Pass

Calling a lot of the ground strikes Khabib landed in the 2nd and 3rd rounds tonight 'significant' is just mind boggling to me. He beat the hell out of Barboza in the 1st, but his GnP in the 2nd and 3rd was almost all arm punching bullshit from shitty angles to keep Barboza frustrated. Cruz was playing them up entirely too much. Complete domination, but didn't see a lot of truly significant GnP outside the 1st round (which, in fairness, effectively ended the fight).

Khabib is almost there in 9 fights. Dude looked like a killer tonight. Just look at Barboza face...

Sometimes "significant" doesn't quite do the distinction justice. We almost need a third category for some of those g&p strikes.

Hughes and Khabib are two of my favorite fighters to watch on the ground other then the fights Hughes had with Lytle and Verissimo he was aggressive on the ground.

Surely Chael should be in there, didn't he set a record in the first Anderson Silva fight?
