They do count as knockdowns in kickboxing.

Ponzi had the KO punch KD. So fightmetric only counted one of the leg kicks as a KD? WTF.......

LOL these statistics are worthless. You'd actually have to watch the fight yourself to know for sure.

In hindsight, Lorenz Larkin provided the blueprint for beating Neil Magny. After a few leg kicks landed, it was all one-sided until the end (Magny dove in for a takedown but got hung up and then elbowed into a KO.).
In his defense, Magny landed alot of counters to Ponz's head, but it seems that anyone with decent leg kicks can immobilize Magny and potshot until they find the finish. Ponz showed alot of patience in continuing the assault until he had the perfect opportunity.
