FIrst name on this list for me is Kang. I remember the hype behind him from Pride and even though he lost to gegard he was still consider an up and coming talent that had a great record leading up to that fight and then he got into the ufc and looked absolutely abysmal against both belcher and bisping.

Mirko obviously had a terrible ufc career. he beat up al turk and Perosh but looked terrible against everybody else.

If Lombard lost to paul harris the same would have been said about him considering how awful he looked against Tim.

Shane Del Rosario looked really good in SF and came to the ufc and has stunk it up. THat kid has size and talent, I dont get it.

Jorge SAntiago-both ufc runs.

Cro cop is by far the widest gap between hype and actual performance, which hurts to say since he's my favorite fighter of all time

Dennis kang failed pretty hard too

Kang looked far from abysmal. He was winning every fight before he lost.

Overeem. Killed the UFC cash cow, fails a test and then gets KTFO. For the money he's on he's been a nightmare for the UFC.

Kevin Ferguson. I didn't think that he would seriously win any meaningful fights, but his 1-2 run (including TUF) was bad. I guess a big part of the blame for the Houston fight was Houston's Starnes impersonation, but still.

Heath Herring really sniffed a turd. He was supposed to come in and bring excitement to the HW division when Tim Sylvia was doing nothing to entertain other than wetfarting. He loses his debut to Jake fucking O'Brien.

Omigawa on his second stint. Came back with a lot of momentum and hype. Poor guy.

Jorge Santiago. Everyone was talkin about how he was a top 10 MW after his FOTY fight with Misaki but I knew being good in Japan means pretty much nothin once you get into the UFC. He got exposed quickly but was still surprised when the UFC cut him after 2losses in a row.

Was just about to say that,he was beating Bisping bad in the first round,I find it more annoying when a fighter doesn't stick to there strengths, like George Gurgel or Dean Lister.

philippe nover ... i thought he was going to win the ufc title in his second fight in the ufc, defend that belt at least 10 times, win multiple FOTN, KOTN, SOTN awards, fight guys above his weight class just cuz and go down as perhaps the GOAT ... but i believed the hype too much ..

Kang & CC are probably the best ones.

Kang was definitely on a nice run in the '06 (or '05 cannot remember) WW GP (and of course by "WW" i mean 183...) but that seemed to be his peak.

CC, well, enough has been said about him. i think his body (and mind and spirit) was tired after fighting 21x in 39 months (06/03-9/06) - others simply discount that minor little fact (that he fought more in 3 years than most people do in a whole career, AFTER a solid K-1 career, AND THEN AND ONLY THEN started not living up to the hype) and say "pride fighters were never good in the first place".....but to each their own i guess.

AO may, in a few years, be looked upon as the king of this category. we shall see.
