most difficult ufc submission ever pulled off

Although u may not be wrong, just like me saying that was a submission, thats not just an armbar.

Hell if ur facing the mat it's called something else than when ur looking up at the sky..

No, its simply a straight armbar. Its just set up from an overhook from side/back, with the finish as seen in the position Ronda finished it in. Its not overly complex from a grappling point of view, more instinctual Ronda knowing by entering that position would lead to the finish given she had the overhook... what Ronda did doesn't have a specific 'name' for the submission. In the end its just a nicely executed armbar.

If you want to differentiate between the variation of straight armbar, e.g. belly down, cutting, near side etc. you could probably call this, "armbar from side/back control". It was very well executed.

I'm a black belt in BJJ myself with 15+ years training and armbar's like that don't come as cleanly executed and smoothly unless you have a very good armbar game. So whilst the finish isn't that overly complicated, the transition and smoothness is impressive

Fair points. Nog's BJJ in his prime was great overall as an MMA fighter because coupled with his extreme toughness and well roundedness (for a BJJ guy at the time) he could threaten in many ways which often led to basic submissions. His craftyness and durability are the keys to his success as a BJJ guy.

Technically, like from an ADCC point of view, guys like Werdum and Ricco, and Monson are at a higher level, but in terms of MMA BJJ, Nog is still up there due to the aformentioned points
Yeah exactly. Take his fight against Cro Cop, it was a pretty basic armbar from a buck and roll which is hardly the highest level technique.

But could most BJJ players survive on the feet against prime Crop Cop?

Probably not.

That doesn't work when she can't get the takedown.
I'd have to watch her last two fights again, but I don't remember her trying very hard for them. I could be wrong though

Rose's multiple punches to the head made Joanna tap pretty quick, and she was the first woman to pull off this complex move.

Her greatest achievement will always be pulling off a hammerlock at this level. The time only adds to the greatness. Easy to hate in hindsight but anyone who has ever rolled jitz will tell you how great this sub truly is

Found it!

It's the setup that was more impressive than the sub itself, but it's beautiful to watch.

This fight made me a Rockhold fan. Pretty much everything he's done since has not.

U can qualify urself all u want

But if there are are differences in guillotines that are so minute most ppl wouldn't event understand em, I think this particular armbar can also have its own name.

If it doesn't that's fine, we could have said that in the first place

I did, I said it was "an armbar".

I only qualified it so you can trust that I know what I'm talking about. But if you don't that's fine. And feel free to think up a name for it. Plenty of people think up names for all sorts of shit. As far as I know there's no specific name like 'helicopter armbar', 'cutting armbar', 'near side armbar', 'snap armbar' etc. from that position.

Call it the Rondarmbar if you think it deserves it

The Mr. Wonderful

Not just once in a lifetime, once ever in UFC history.
I've always hated that they went with "The Mr. Wonderful."

"Phil-mura" and "The Wonderbar" are infinitely better names

No mention of the Twister by Korean Zombie?

Elvis Sinosic's 2 arm in triangle on Jeremy Horn was pretty ridiculous, especially considering the paths each of them took afterwards
