Merab and Belal they tried to keep away from the title for sure.
Bisping was coming off the win against Anderson Silva, which was the biggest win of his career at that point, it was super short notice so it's not surprising not many guys could take it I swear it was less than two weeksDifference between Bisping and the others is he always made it to an official title eliminator but came up short. UFC 100 vs Henderson was an "Official" title eliminator. His fight with Chael was an "Official" title eliminator. He finally got his shot when The Cris pulled out of the rematch with Rockhold and the other top contenders declined.
Yes that's right. It simply wasn't correct for the poster to whom I responded to say Bisping had tons of wins but never got close to a title shot. He had two previous title eliminators.Bisping was coming off the win against Anderson Silva, which was the biggest win of his career at that point, it was super short notice so it's not surprising not many guys could take it I swear it was less than two weeks
Actually I think he maybe had more than two, there was chael, henderson and to an extent i think the vitor fight was a title eliminator for him, because after the chael fight he fought brian stann, that fight may have been the two fight streak we typically see from fighters who lose a title eliminator.Yes that's right. Lol you must forget that the UFC had to threaten to pull Leon from the rankings to get him to do anything he was always inactive and was turning down completely reasonable fights like Wonderboy at the timeSaying Merab is a bit dishonest, he literally turned down his title shot when he had 8 wins.
Belal literally had his prime farmed by the ufc going 9-0-1.
Edwards also had to go 9-0-1 while the ufc did bullshit like demand he only fight unranked khamzat for an entire year while khamzat pulled out each time.
