Most beautiful place that you've visited in person?

The swiss alps with lake Lucerne.
This place has the benefit of being one of the first place I visited in Europe when I was 16, so it hit different.

I've been to many places around the world since, but you never forget your first.

This is tough because I have been to different terrain and landscapes that are so different but are beautiful in their own way. Red Rock in Nevada, Snow covered Mountains in Breckenridge Colorado, Tropical paradise in Hawaii, Aruba, Bermuda, Lake life in Tahoe, Lake George. Ireland for greenery, Paris for Architecture. I live near beautiful beaches and the atlantic ocean. I think the one time where I actually lost my breath from scenery was Swiss Alps....Backpacking, slept in a barn loft with 8 others. Woke up, cold breath in the air, looked back out the loft and was amazed.

I'm not sure if I've ever been there. I am aware that I visited that general area of Switzerland when I was 3. I don't remember it at this point. But very beautiful regardless. I have more vivid memories of visiting Lake Lugano as an adult. Incredibly beautiful.

I have not been to Glacier since the 90s when I lived in Banff but what I remember is that it is one massive traffic jam. Glacier is the second most visited park in the US (or used to be) and there are just too many damn people. Waterton on the Canadian side is just as nice (if not nicer) and a lot less crowded.
I went in May just a few weeks before peak season and there was no traffic to speak of.

probaly Firtchburg, Ma
I have a somewhat funny story about that. When I was a kid, I lived near a commuter rail station that went to Fitchburg. One day I decided I was going to go to Fitchburg for the day and then head back. Unfortunately, I left my money at home and so I had to get off at the first stop after they checked fares. Ended up having to walk all the way back home from Waltham to Somerville. Which is a LONG walk...

<{chips}>

It's like a 3 hour walk if you do it correctly, which I definitely didn't since I was a kid without Google Maps or anything back then in the 90s.

PS - STILL haven't been to Fitchburg yet... :)

The most beautiful place I’ve ever been was on i90 during a crazy sunset. It felt like I was on an acid trip. I’ve never seen anything remotely close to as cool as that.

We are going to Lassen Volcanic National Park in less then 2 weeks and also go through all the waterfall spots before heading to the hotel. Going to hit up these spots.
