What have been the most annoying, pointless or frustrating instant rematches.

Certainly the Nate vs Conor one is up there.

If I were to standardize it I'd say instant rematches should only occur if a champ loses in a closely contested decision. That's it!

Nothing gets more annoying than Chris "10%" Weidman actually getting rewarded an instant rematch after incessantly whining.

Hope he gets utterly decimated again. And I don't like Luke at all.

Any rematch were the first bout wasn't at all close.

I rarely believe instant rematches, especially championship fights are justified. If someone gets injured, I get it. If the win was a controversial decision, I also get it.

Most instant rematches in the UFC never make sense at all.

anything with cain

This is pretty fucking good too.

Fights 2 different people in like 3 years, gets fucked by Werdum, gives birth to the "Sea-Level Cain" meme and actually gets another instant rematch but has to pull out.

Cain has done irreversible damage to the HW division.

Anything where a non-dominant champ got DESTROYED.

Cain vs Werdum

Weidman vs Rockhold

Rockhold vs Weidman
Cruz vs Faber

These two at the moment.

Rockhold vs Weidman is great. First one gives a lot of space to a rematch. And there isn't a contender right now, I think. Should be Romero but you know what happened to him.

I don't think the Diaz/McGregor rematch is "annoying". I want to see it.
I don't think it makes sense to McGregor, but it's not annoying. I do think the run of instant title rematches is a bit much, but that seems to have died off.
BUT I do expect McGregor to give up the 145 strap if this fight is signed.

In all fairness HW has always been pretty slim pickins. there wasnt a lot of other contenders at the time. IIrc browne just got KO'd by bigfoot, Overreem was on another losing streak ect. But still, the Werdum rematch specifically was disgusting. With the way he's kept the HW division on lockdown you'd think he's the last person you'd want near the title but the UFC shamelessly wanted that Mexican fanbase. It was easier to cheer for a klitchko fight than a cain fight lol.

Here's hopin the division lights up now that it's open season on Werdum, could be a lot of belt switching coming up. I'll still be cheering for Werdum tho if not simply for the troll face.

If this one between Conor and Nate Happens it will be the 1st UFC I have not bought in ages and I will not stream it illegally either because I got a website that streams that shit just like my big screen for free. They are fucking and fucking the 145 lb weight class while their little spoiled baby goes out and cheats on his loyal ass GF that MF makes me sick

Shamrock Ortiz comes to mind------Conor's been exposed, should be defending the title

Romero is to blame IMO. I guess they could have given it to Souza though.

Im suprised McG wants that rematch right away, Gut reaction is to say there needs to be an interim fight between Aldo and Frankie. But Mcgregor fights regularly as fuck and hasn't even had the title that long. I dont think either Aldo or Frankie would be ready for UFC 200 anyways. Despite the fact that its a clear money grab from UFC, cant really knock em for good business decisions as few and far between as they are.

It's a fun fight and I'll definitely watch it again, Im no conspiracy theorist but if Connors a significant underdog (which I doubt) ill be puttin money on em. No way at all UFC wants him to lose twice if theyre really trying to maximize his star power. I'll put my money on something weird happening and a McG win. Dr stoppage at the first site of blood or something. Most likely Diaz will just beat his ass again tho lol.

McGregor decision by Diaz being too comfortable off his back. I assume 200 will happen in Vegas. Vegas docs are use to seeing blood, even the amount a Diaz loses in a fight.
