Social Morning coffee conversation: what is your job ?

I play poker. I started at 22 or 23 and just enjoyed the game and wanted to be the best at it. Few years later I was at work and asked myself "What the fuck am I even doing here? Fuck all these people". That's how that went. Something like an accidental career you could say.
I admire your courage sherbro. I'm at that point too. I often sit in my car thinking "fuck all this" but the kiddos are still too young.

Leak Survey Tech. I check Natural gas mains, meters, and service lines to make sure they aren't leaking. Involves going into a lot of people's basements to check the meters that aren't outside. Seen a good amount of weird shit in people's basements and have had the cops called at least once a year since I've been doing this.

I'm a tech for an international touring band(s) and in the off season I do some general contracting mostly framing.

The off season work pays the bills for most of the year and being on tour I get to see lots of cool places and make connections for my own musical endeavors.
I worked in A&R for an indie label in california, what has your experience been like working with musicians?

Hello sherbros ! Let’s have a Saturday , slow paced conversation, serve yourself a coffee. What is your career ? And ultimately, is it the job you wanted since childhood or it was not in sight and you landed this job accidentally ?
Boxing and mma striking coach at a decent sized mma gym. I do private lessons to help make ends meet and the gym is pretty generous with the salary.

Love the job. I’ve got an amateur boxer
Who has shown Olympic level talent, I’ve trained fighters for Bellator, PFL, ufc, bkfc, but mostly work with regional ammys and pros. 10/10 would recommend

When you travel I'm your worst nightmare.

2 ways.

Avis rental counter at the airport. I sell you insurance and gas when you rent your car, I can be really pushy if I think I can intimidate you into saying yes. be nice and I might give you a free upgrade.

I also throw your toothpaste and lotion and water bottles away, the hated TSA officer.

Both jobs are actually fun and I like them both. Avis has a really good commission system

I'm also a part time art rep, I sell art at comic cons. People love me at this one
