More impressive: Jon's win over Stipe or Adesanya's win over Silva?

Both padded their records with the name of a legend and got criticized for it. Which win over a legend in their 40s do you rank higher?

Adesanya match with Silva made sense. He wasn’t a champion. A lot people were calling for the fight.

It was fun. Like a passing of the tourch. A foreshadowing of Adesanya’s legends title run

Anderson actually put a great fight and there were some beautiful moments in the build up and aftermath of the fight

Both were shot by that point in their careers so it’s irrelevant. Miocic was never even that talented of a HW. Frankly, prime Kharitonov would probably have beaten prime Miocic.

Both horrible, meaningless wins but I honestly feel that Anderson was more shot than Stipe in these respective time periods. Stipe still had power, size, and decent wrestling to offer. He was also only coming off of 1 loss (and a huge layoff but still).

Once Anderson's reflexes were gone, what did he have left? He also looked completely terrible for the past 6 years and just didn't care about anything. Anderson's performance in the Bisping fight is one of the worst I've ever seen and that was still 3 years before he fought Izzy.

So of course Stipe looked worse, he hadn't competed in more than 3 years and 1/2 (a brutal KO loss to Ngannou) and was just here to get a fat bag.

Anderson had just been busted by USADA one fight ago (and he was juicing to fight a WW in Gastelum, for shame) so he was obviously still hoping to max his skills with his precious steroids & grease


Why couldn't Silva fight clean like the other GOATS? Fedor, GSP, Khabib, Aldo, BJ Penn...

Izzy fought an active Silva in a non title fight climbing the ladder to the title, what did Silva have to do, refusing dangerous matchup and only fight unranked fighters to rack some paydays?
it makes a lot of more sense compared to Jon asking for Stipe to end his retirement and come back to pad his record.

On top of that Izzy showed mercy and respect while Jon is still insulting Stipe one week after the fight.

Correct take, this fight was pretty good, Anderson Silva showed his great technique, Izzy showed he was the new generation of champion material, they both showed respect and the torch got passed

The Stipe fight was an ugly and stupid mess in comparison

Silva was almost 44 when he fought Adesanya who was in his absolute prime, at least Jones is also somewhat washed himself and he is fighting 1 division above his career weight class, Miocic is 42.
