KOs are pretty exciting/impressive but to me a tapout is more decisive. With a ko, the fighter is going hard then they're hit and done. With a tapout, the loser is conciously/knowingly acknowledging "l have been defeated and give up, I do not dispute your victory"

To me, getting the tap is more impressive because the loser is knowingly admitting the loss.

Thoughts??

tapping to strikes

Rendering your opponent unconscious is the most decisive, as you're figuratively "killing" your opponent. So KO or chokes.

Hitting your opponent who's primarily a striker so much that they panic and start trying to wrestle you. Then sweeping them, ground and pounding them until they turn their back to you because they're looking for a way out and then choking them and them furiously tapping before the choke is even sunk in properly.

It's any victory where the opponent loses consciousness. If the fighter gets KOd not flash KOd then out of it but loses conciousness completely for a few seconds or if they get choked out and take a few seconds to come around. Those are the most decisive ways to win. There is no question of if the opponent could have gutted it out or if it was a quick stoppage. Total knock out or choke out.

Yeah I see what you mean. I just feel like your opponent consciously admitting defeat proves something in a different way because it is within their control whereas a ko they can't really control and choose to give up

That decisively made Conor a punk but wouldn't it have been more decisive of a win if Conor would have continued to overestimate himself in that moment and not tapped quick enough. Getting choked out and Nate leaving his momentarily lifeless body just laying there... wait I'm getting ahead of myself. Nate putting Conor's lights out is next month.

Anybody can choke somebody out, KO power and timing is far more impressive

Hell Cody Mckenzie won enough with subs to get a fight with money mendes!!!

tapout is more decisive since you cant chalk it up as getting caught

I always have said a sub. You are making your opponent quit, he is giving up. A ko is forcing him to quit but a sub is giving him a choice to quit and when he chooses to tap that is the ultimate

For me, a clean KO is the most decisive. You have no say in the matter, you are done. Lights out. If this was a life or death situation, you are now dead, because unconscious people cannot defend themselves.

A for tko's, there is a range. A submission is far more decisive than a soft tko or early stoppage, but a vicious damaging tko could potentially be more decisive, depending on the details.

This is my feeling also. You're sorta breaking them down mentally and forcing them to admit defeat

Something like Weidman - Silva 2 is pretty impressive. "So how did you win?" "I let him hit me, and he broke."

KO

You cant fight if youre asleep. Fights over. You lost. Pretty decisive.
