MoonEx Set to Begin Moon Mining in 2017

lol. i´ll believe it when I see it. No way they are up and running in 2017

A one world government is needed for large scale space explorations because the resources and cooperation needed will be astronomical.

It cant be done efficiently with current world politics to much sabotuers and wars that threaten to destroy infrastructure.

I agree. A good way for the world to come together is through space exploration.

Do I need to explain everything?

Planetary colonization would mean unlimited territory=unlimited potential for the founding of new nations=humanity not imprisoned by globalism or tied to a single regressive fate

In the future when people are more civilized they won't be fighting like children over names of plots of land.

You'd be unfit for the future as your thinking can fit into a thimble.

And this tangent you went off on has absolutely nothing to do with my original post in this thread.

You're just trying to hijack this thread and twist it around with your silliness

Yeah thats not happening any time soon. Getting to the nearest habitable planet with current tech would take something like 45000 years. The universe is so incredibly big that even at the speed of light you are moving slow.

No, just that nobody could explain how for-profit space exploration or offworld mining are a "sad future". It is the first step towards our ultimate destiny which is being unbound by territorial limits. Infinite nationalism and infinite resources=infinite freedom evolutionary potential.

I'm "hardcore" into speculative political science and futurism in regards to space colonization -- I don't expect to have a very serious conversation about it with a SJW who probably had his mind blown by an MTV documentary about trannies. We aren't even in the same species cognitively.

Lol MTV.

You're def on target brah

Sadly I don't think the prospect of space exploration alone will inspire people to work together more maybe if we survived a close call like an asteroid or comet impact but I don't know.

Its more like the other way around, if the world come together large scale space exploration could happen.

It can't be cost efficient to mine and transport iron ore back and forth?

What is MoonX's Smithing level?

Not yet but once we build an Earth and Lunar space elevator then transportation of ore back and forth between the 2 will become economically viable.

No mention in the article about how this would affect the cheese industry?

I don't know how they can mine He3 from the moon, it's still speculative that it's really abundant there.

If it is, then we'd still have to get nuclear powerplants approved to use it.

It's more of a 'our kids' will see it thing.

LIke it has fucked up Earth's orbit?

I think the argument here is that anything mined on Earth stays, more or less, on Earth.

But, most of what would be mined on the Moon would leave. Ever so slightly changing it's density.

solar energy would work since its constant

Not very constant. Many people think it is always light on the moon. Many got that from the Apollo moon landings that spent one to 3 days on the moon in full sunlight. Those landings were planned to land during the period of sunlight.

A moon day is 29.5 earth days. That means there is a 14.75 earth day period of total darkness and a 14.75 day long period for the sun to track across the sky. Unless the solar panels track the sun, much of this sunlight time will be at an angle where the solar panels won't be at full output.

During the darkness, temperatures can drop to negative 243 degrees F (-153 C) and rise to 253 F (123 C) in direct sunlight. There is no atmosphere so the bottom side of equipment can be very cold and the top very hot. I've seen problems on Hydraulic systems with as little as 70 degrees F difference in temperatures. Metal subjected to these temperature extremes can fail. Mining on the moon would be quite difficult.

Spreading across the stars with infinite resources, mining other plants etc?

Perpetual nationalism where if we don't like our governments we can just move to a new planet, forever?

All with unlimited economic opportunity, the potential for unlimited megazillionaires and mass automated labor

Basically a liberal's nightmare. I described the liberal dreamworld above. Living broke in a clay hut being cuckolded by a transvestite and perhaps getting some horrible disease on purpose "just to see what is like".

Neonazi's see the universe through dreams and reality has no place in those dreams. You assume we can ruin everything and just move on to the next place. As far as we know, there is no other place in the universe that humans can live. Mathematically we assume there has to be but the chances of finding it and finding a way to travel there are slim. We haven't been able to create a sustainable artificial environment on earth so it is very unlikely we could do it on another planet.

The only profit available in space is contracting for the government. It is unlikely that there will be a way to mine and return anything to earth anytime soon. Maybe hundreds if not thousands of years.

Given the number of Mars rovers and space shuttles we've lost, what could go wrong!

ha thats easy considering the value of helum-3 alone, and other rare metals. Now if we are talking about asteroid mining.....

there was a astroid floating by earth worth 400 trillion dollars

Well if we happened to get that 400 trillion dollar asteroid mined, that stuff wouldn't be worth 400 trillion dollars anymore.

Your post doesn't make a lot of sense. As previously mentioned I am middle eastern and as we all know, the Nazis were pioneers in environmental protection. What either one has to do with for-profit space colonization=lol?

Maybe the mods should program a robot that randomly spams the word "Nazi" in every thread so half of the forum can stop logging in. Automated labor.

Agreed. I can't see mining on the moon being profitable. It takes too much equipment, energy, and water.

meh well people seem to think differantly so i guess will see. we gotta start somewhere so we might as well start now.

Besides the fast deposites of helium-3 seems worth it

Okay. Makes sense.
