Multiplat Monster Hunter World

Will I get quests to go back for some of the larger monsters? I keep getting warned to stay away from the giant winged t-Rex looking thing but it has me going to another zone. Not sure if I should just try my luck.

Yeah, when you get an Assigned quest, that a story mission that drives the maps and hunts forward. There are Optional quests when looking at the quest board that allow you to go and hunt previous monsters and are sorted by their Star difficulty. It's good way to complete the same hunt a few times in a row to gather all of the materials you need for complete armor sets or weapon upgrades.

Played this until 4 am! I wasn't initially going to buy it but got the itch after watching a few streams.

I'm rocking a big clunky Gunlance and just slayed my first Pukei-Pukei.

No forced co op but there’s like 10 jack offs uninvited in my online session. What the fuck does that mean.

I just set mine to private so no random jump in my game. the monsters only scale if you extra party members in the hunt.

Killed my first Anjanath, fuck that was an intense fight!

Same here. He KO'd me once and sent me back to camp when he hit me dead on with a mouth full of fire. I was getting greedy and was planted to long and paid the price. I'm still weaing base level Pukei-Pukei armor so his bigger attacks took a pretty big chunk of life.

I think I'm going to stay and fight him a few times and make his armor set. It has a huge armor AC jump, and has some usefull looking skills like Artillery for the upcoming Elder Dragon fight.

Just got an achievement talking about my first crown?

The hell is that?

Had a night out on Friday and was badly hungover yesterday so didn't play. Getting back into it now just made a full Jagras armor set.

I was killing a great jangras and he aggrod one of those and it fucking two shot me lol

Full bone armor set and bone hatchets. Stayed up an hour past my bed time playing this, I can tell this game is addictive lol

Did the Elder Dragon event this morning and made my way to the Coral Highlands. Did some badly needed armor upgrades, but don't want to get to carried away with new materials showing up in the new region. Once you get through the Elder Dragon event and pick up some Dragonite during the fight you unlock High Metal set and the brestplate has the Ear Plugs skill which lessons the effective distance of roars which is a hughly usefull skill. There is nothing worse than being mid swing in a Greatsword level 3 charge attack, just to get knocked out of the animation by a roar.

Also did some quality weapon upgrading. Upgraded my Greatsword to the Blooming Balde II and my Longsword to the Pulsar Shotel II. I wasn't planning on taking my Greatsword down the poison path, but I had the materials on hand and the raw damage is still quite good and can apply poison descently enough. Hoping for a hunt quest for a Rathian quest soon to get some her materials to upgrade my Longsword.

Just hunted a Barroth, that was an awesome fight.

Damn, this game is blowing up. I didn't realize this series was so popular.

The Anjaroth kicked my ass, i still only have jagras armour and an iron hammer 3, need to upgrade.

Got in one last session for the weekend and cleared a good bath of monsters and upgrades. Picked up a side quest for the Rathian from the one of the dudes at the Botanical Research area and was able to complete my Wyvern Blade "Leaf". Got into the groove and was taking down the Rathian in pretty short order, so after I got my Longsword going to stick around a bit and get a full set of the Rathian armor.

Made my way to the Rotten Vale and during the first expedition ran across this sum' bitch:

Greatsword made pretty short work of him. Got a lot of bounch back from all of his bone armor, but charge attacks broke him down and left a lot of openings. I decked my Palico in his armor and he looks like a cross between marshmellow and a cosomnot.

I took him down pretty quickly my first round with the Sword and Shield from Pukei-Pukei. It adds poison damage, and I was able to keep afflicted pretty much the entire battle and the constant damage over time really sped things up. I mainly circled to my right and hugged his left leg and unloaded during my attack windows. Avoid getting behind him since he has a tail smash that will jack you up. It's a good attack to bait though, since it locks him down for a good bit where you can get in quite a few hits.

I think the Pukei-Pukei waist armor has +poison damage which speeds up afflicting him with poison.

Haven't had a game sink its hooks into me like this in a while. About to head to the Rotten Vale, crafted a full Jyura set with a Blazing Hammer. Wrecking shit at this point.
