Ok so this is boxing but i remember Cotto,i think after the mayweather fight,he was busted up a bit,and backstage his wife is crying in his arms and saying "i cant take this,cant you stop fighting" You could tell that Cotto didnt even have an ounce of QUIT in him. He shrugged and said "im a fighter,this is what i do,and this is what i am" Imagine how hard it is to quit. Its like quitting life.

He really should have. But that's the thing.

Guys like Chuck and Nogueira who CLEARLY should've retired 3-4 fights earlier, they are true warriors and just can't let go of fighting. It's what made them who they are. We have so many fighters today who could benefit from retiring but just can't let go also. Machida is one of them.

Yeah fighters are too tough for there own good, I just don't want to see guys end up like Gary Goodridge...real sad.

I know, But it's just a case of getting you body isn't the same anymore. Minotauro could have retired after the Schaub victory. He would've gladly missed out on the Mir arm break and the Coutrny's sick knockout. It's all they do, fight, but it's like a relationship break up, it's hard. But it has to be done if it's not healthy anymore. It's for everyone involved when our favorite fighters retire, but it's part of life.

That's really horrible. I really don't want to see Nogueira, Liddell or even the present day fighters that have been on a KO loosing streak end up like Goodridge. That's a nightmare.

Fuck that's really depressing. Rashad is a great fighter, and he felt a wave of emotions on that interview. I just saw the knockout and I was cheering for Glover. But this really makes me feel for Rashad. This sport is an amazing stage for people to get stripped down to nothing but emotion.
