Molson Coors To Discontinue 11 Beer Brands(Mickeys, Olde E, Miller High Life, 211 Steel Reserve)

you grew up in a very nice neighborhood then lol

Maybe age?

We liked mad dog and OE and all the commons.
Natural lite for the kegs in college.
People drank Mickeys but not the Mickey's version in the article.

Low grade poor person beer. More space on the shelf for keeping local brewery beer in the fridge.
No fucks given losing that swill at all.

I liked to get a quart of Mickey's Ice now an then. Haven't seen it in over a decade, though. I really don't see much for malt liquor in my area, even at the stop and robs in the bad parts. Few months ago I went driving around looking for quarts of regular Mickey's. Nobody had em'. However, I could find craft brew in the hood. !0 years ago, I would have been bitching about the opposite. Greener grass and whatnot...

In my area there are so many of them. My only complaint is it's pushing lots of the great gateway beers off of the shelves because of the change in tastes.

That's what Costco and Walmart's for. I always try to support local breweries, especially in the last 18 months with the pandemic because so many of them didn't have patios and have either gone out of business or very close to it. Bit worried it might get kicked off again with the mask mandate kicking off again, hope they aren't headed to lockdown again.

Even the Walmart and Costco is like that here. The craft breweries around here didn't suffer too badly. People were still showing up when things were supposed to be locked down for a short while to fill growlers, which turned into gatherings. The ones that shut down pretty much chose their own fate. For every one that closes, another starts.

One nice story. Brewery downtown have a gigantic place, no outdoor space whatsoeverso apart from pick ups like you mentioned couldn't really do anything and the rent must have been so massive. A local business who has a successful beer bar, cocktail bar and arcade bar joined forces with them. Things like that warm my heart. Uproar the brewery, when I first moved to CA I stuck my neck in all nosey before they opened and got a guided tour. Really lovely nice people.

Steel reserve still makes me cringe to this day when I read it.
Razors for your liver.
ST Ides, OE, Steel Reserve and whatever we could get our hands on.

Remember Special brew.

iu
Back in high school, when one Mickey's wasn't cutting it any longer, I'd throw in a St. Ides Special Brew.

Fuck them! Mickeys, OE and Miller High Life are awesome.

High life is the champagne of beer for fucks sake!

Edit
After my rage reaction it seems only weird products of those brands are getting the axe and not the main one?

I remember buying those fuckers for like $1.59 at Circle K, and this was not even 10 years ago.

I wish they'd bring this one back:

Pete Slosberg was one of the pioneers.

I didn't even know they stopped making that. There's alot of brands that I used to buy that I never see in the stores anymore. I haven't seen Moosehead or St. Pauli Girl in many moons.
