Not sure if they fixed it yet, but before if you were using explosive rounds you wouldn't get weapon XP.

So until that's confirmed fixed stay away from the explosive rounds if your gun isnt max leveled
 
I didn't like the R90 either until I figured out you just double tap everything. Eventually I even stopped aiming down sights too. That's when my kills starting soaring with it.

COVID and stubbornness. It was a grind.

Played a few games of Rusty Houseboat to flex the new Camos.

Now to earn the Kali Sticks, and Gold/Plat/Dam the Gali, Crossbow and .50 Cal, since I'm now 155 and 100 on Battle Pass, maybe a few Obsidians on my favorites.

Go HC Rusty Houseboat. Rust and Shoothouse were better for me for kill volume than GW. More one hit kills. If Shipment turns up, work something else.

Camp, max out your ADS and add a scope with no glint.
 
Yah, ground war allows for more long range kills however which is extra XP if I am not mistaken. got 4 levels from my first match on 13 kills.

True, I've had some good ones the past week on GW, but skill based matchmaking doesn't exist for GW so for every good game (15+ kills) I felt like I got 3 sub-10 kill games...because I suck sniping, you may not though so it's a preference thing.

Had more success Plating my snipers with an ADS build on maps I could anticipate the spawns and adjust.

GW is the go-to for sniper long shot kills though, no question, but double and 3 kill challenges got completed easier on Rust and Shoothouse

Need half your team to play aggressive, take the tower at multiple levels and not flip the spawns.

It's not a balanced map, probably the most unbalanced of all so you need to get the power positions then dominate.
 
Best strat for rust for me is to run around the edges and catch suckers trying to be cute.

Long-time least favourite map for me. Never even got the hate for Dilly but Rust, I'll dip out of lobby if I see it loading. I've been levelling the S4 Vector over recent logins (pretty fun as a former Uzi main) and found myself on Rust a few times; some beloved modes of mine like Cyber ATK can save it but in general, I'd prefer otherwise. It's actually been super fun to level a WPN again; I've had everything maxed for too long, that is to say vanilla unlocks have proven a rush, ha.

The Vector immediately became my favorite SMG. The attachments make it a dream and look badass to boot.

I'm a control the center and spawn kill type of rust player.

Either that or I'll sit in the elevated corner platform near C flag and snipe/Longshot the folks coming around from the containers.

Every time I try to get to that camping spot I get fucking shot making my run towards it.
